Terrible that he may never be able to get in the ring again- but he gave us some great moments in boxing. I remember how happy I was when he beat Margarito, and his rematch KO of Quintana was amazing.
i always dreamed of a williams vs cotto match up. my goodness this would have been an incredible fight. i always picked paul in a close decision.
Same although I actually always though that Williams would stop Cotto. Too much pressure from a very large southpaw with an iron chin. Cotto would have his moments but I dont see Cotto hurting Paul and Cotto would eventually get broken down as he has in the past.
Im with you 100% Jose my man. If I can Green you consider it done.
*edit: Just tried, and they said I have to spread it around.*
no doubt my man! I appreciate it anyway...
I liked Paul Williams fights since i saw him fight Sharmba Mitchell. Sharmba was looking helpless and falling all over Paul. Paul just got up and showed no remorse and kept punching. i became an instant fan.
So sad to hear,
He's a warrior in and out of the ring.
Staying positive at a difficult time for him shows his true character !
Hope for the best for him.
most exiting fighter of this era simply the best at giving the fans a real fight he will be miss in the ring.i wish paul the best he will forever be the most exiting fighter of this era
i was devastated when i heard the news @ the gym. speechess really, what a sad way to end a career. people were writing him off already but this match up with canelo was a good 1 !
get better champ!
I havent paid him much attention lately but its heart breaking to read what happened to him. I guess if there is a positive at least he is mentally coherent. I hope that somehow he will be able to walk again.
its always sad to hear bad news, I'm sure Pwill will walk again once more. miracles happen everyday and i see a miracle happening for paul in the near future get well soon man :)
Truly one of my favorite fighters who had excitement, risk, volume, ability and a natural gift. A warrior in every sense of the word. I am proud to say that I AM a fan of Paul Williams rain or shine.
My thoughts and prayers goes to him and his loved ones. I wish for a speedy recovery.
May God give him the ability and strength to walk again...
Im with you 100% Jose my man. If I can Green you consider it done.

Williams turned the boxing world upside down with his win over Margarito. He did what nobody else could do in dominating Winky Wright. And with his first round KO revenge win over CQ, was spectacular. No wonder why he was the most avoided fighter at the time. Paul Williams could be very proud of his Boxing Achievements.
Absolutely loved him, loved his style, his heart. Was no doubt my favorite fighter to watch. The hate was unnecessary. I'll never forget his days of glory, man, never.
This is how I feel^^^^^^. I remember watching the Margo fight and the Quintana rematch, and the fights before those. Im simply crushed by the tragedy that has befallen The Punisher.
Say ya'll remember when Shane was in Houston, and outright blatently duck Paul. :lol1: Thats when you knew Paul had the WW division shakin in they boots.
No doubt yesterday was my saddest day as a boxing fan. Paul was my favorite fighter, and I have been so excited about this upcoming fight with Canelo. Brought me to tears last night when I heard the news and I'm still heartbroken.

i feel ya buddy, my worst moment as a boxing fan... I'll never forget the margarito drama before their fight and margarito finally growing a pair and facing his mandatory.... the punisher became a star that night and his first fight with sergio was epic... i dont care what anyone says but paul clearly won that fight and the hate was unnecessary....

ill appreciate him til the day I die, it was paul who turned me onto boxing, I always watched here and there but it wasnt til i flipped on hbo on demand one sunday afternoon and saw paul williams vs sharmba mitchell... i knew absolutely nothing about boxing and its history.. I was absolutely floored by his sick height for being a WW and max kellerman praising him as the next thomas hearns, who at the time never knew who was. I immediately got on the pc and came across this website and started downloading fights. I then learned who floyd, cotto, margarito, and the other welterweights were. I couldnt get enough of the punisher and his fights... i would get on here and talk about him all the time and people would laugh and complain that he was too green ...Im now a diehard boxing fanatic and I thank you Paul Williams for showing me an amazing sport i never knew existed.... Love you buddy and God Bless you and your family... you will always be one of my favorites of all time
