i personally rate donaire...i like his style and accuracy, timing and punch variety....ur always on the edge of your seat expecting at any second a montiel type explosive ko...but he has been a big fish in a small pond so to speak, so how will nonito fair against legitimate sized opponents??? every 1 talks about a rigondeaux fight but i think rigo hasn't really earned the chance to be in with a name fighter like donaire and would be a great fight if, providing they keep winning, meet a year or so from now after building the fight up, nonito is in the top 5 p4p and i believe he deserves to be there and is an exciting talent:boxing::wank:
Till he fights Rigo, he is over hyped. If you truely believe a 2-time gold medalist does not deserve a shot a donaire, that is just stupid. The guy is obviously someone to fear, winning his title in 8 pro fights!
getting handed a paper title after 8 fights to rush his career due to his age...rigo will have earned hios shot when he has 14 consecutive world title fights against p4p'ers and the top ranked fighters....he don't deserve a shot based on amature pedigree...come on...since vic he has had those 14 title fights over 5 and a 1/2 yr's...rigo doesn't deserve to be at that level with out going thru the same...
When he steps up to the plate against Rigo he'll be exposed.
what do u mean step up???? since upsetting darchinyan in 2007 donaire has had 14 consecutive title fights...that's a long time and a lot of hard work and don't forget he fought fighters considered beasts and top p4p'erz...what has rigo done??? beat nobody'z and been handed a paper title to give his career a boost due to his old age...rigo doesn't deserve the shot or payday based on amature pedigree....how would u feel watching sum1 get handed the shot and payday knowing he by passed all the hard work u put in to get to where u r???? seriously step up????? its more than 5 years and 14 title fights backwards:no::no::no:
How many people here have actually seen mathebula fight?
I don't know who'll win, but if I had to bet, I'd bet on the fight going over 10 roundsThe last and only fight of his I've seen was when he fought Celestine Caballero and that was like 2 or so years ago. Other than that I don't know anything about him.
he has done alot to deserve the praise and p4p ranking...he is the current WBO super bantam weight champ, the former WBC +WBO bantam weight champ, WBA Super fly weight champ and IBF flyweight champ and he has took some titles in epic style with an outstanding KO + Upset of the year win over the then undefeated and feared Vic Darchinyan to get the IBF (+IBO) titles and scored another amazing one punch 2nd round ko over Fernando Montiel ripping the WBC+ WBO Titles from montiel in another KO And upset of the year candidate, this along with being an exciting fighter makes him more that warrent the hype with his last 12 fights being for titles no less than interim and his next fight is yet again a world title unification bout for the WBO + IBF World titles against Jeffery Mathebula....this is an impressive CV!!!!! Future gr8 no doubt dont get the negativity against this fighter that is constantly impressive and exciting along with improving fight by fight!:boxing::boxing::trink26:
This is what people are talking about when they say overhyped. 12 fights for titles? Beating Montiel was a candidate for upset of the year? Bringing up the Vic KO in 2012? :tool:

vic was considered a beast at the time and nonito was a huge underdog and vic previously beat gled donaire, nonitos brother...vic was destroying opponents and was pretty much feared and avoided :boxing:
Ballchinyan was at 112, he is tiny & that win is so so overrated, tell me who Ballchinyans best win was? Nonitos little brother Glenn? lol! Lets not go on like he was some monster because he never was and has consistently fell through in big fights, the guy has zero defense what so ever.
Montiel whilst again tiny I give him some respect for that win.
What do you mean Darchinyan was tiny? They were in the same weightclass, Darchinyan was a reigning champ and got starched. Then Darchinyan moved up BEFORE Donaire and became world champ at 115 and 118. Donaire moved up and fought Montiel in only his 2nd fight at 118 and iced him. LOL "tiny" :lol1:
Yeah Darchinyan consistently fell through in big fights, that's why he upset Mijares.
You don't seem to follow boxing closely, you need to do your homework son.
ANY HYPE IS TOO MUCH HYPE!
Isn't hype just people attaching their hopes and their reputations to the acheivements of others?
I like Nonito, as SILENCERS said: Every fighter gets hyped after a good win.
We'll see. I like him, it doesn't mean I think he's better than Rigo/Mares/Gamboa. Just means I enjoy watching his fights.
I'd be lying if I said I'd seen Mathebula fight, but it'll be interesting to see Nonito face a taller guy. Many people on here seem to be saying the guy aint too bad and has had some tough decision losses so we'll see.
More than anything I wanna see Nonito fight a top guy again but with TopRank... you just never know...
I was explaining to my g/f yday about TopRank and the JCCjr debacle etc... and deadly serious, she said "And you still watch this stuff?! It sounds like Wrestling!" Caught me off guard a little bit... From a non-fan's point of view, this sh1t looks even more ridiculous than it does to us.
Yeah let's forget about the Darchinyan and Montiel destructions and the winning streak in title fights, let's focus on his accomplishments in a division he recently moved up to. :pat:

Rigondeux hasn't even had 10 pro fights yet & has already spanked Corboda, Casey & Ramos 3 guys who at least IMO anyway are as good if not better than Donaires next opponent & his last two previous.
Donaire is hot air, he'll keep fighting scrubs until Pacquaio retires. Quite clear Arum is hyping him to be the next 'Filipino megastar' avoiding any legit threat.
Says an awful lot when the guy wouldn't even risk putting him in with Arce!

Cordoba is a world class fighter, whose best career win was Caba, years ago. Mathebula IMO beat Caba (away), maybe not as well, never seen the Cordoba fight. But Cordoba couldn't have been on good form to lose to a guy like Dunne. Great fight tho. But you boosting Casey and Dunne and putting down Nonito's opp is LOL.
Note sure about the judging in Cordoba Rigo, I pretty much tuned out a few rounds after Rigo went on the run after getting dropped by a jab. Not rewatching that one, doubt anyone here sat through it twice, ditto for Ramos. But doesn't make me wanna see his posture after getting touched by Nonito's hook.
Don't get me wrong, Rigo winning titles in under 10 fights is a great accomplishment. Him calling out Donaire is fine, more power to him. If he fights Donaire, I'll probably pull for him. I could even see him dominating (or getting embarrased). But to say Donaire is a fraud if he doesn't fight Rigo ASAP is retarded.
yeah i agree, even though rogo has won the title, it was gifted to him and nonito has worked long and hard to get to where he's at, rigo dont deserve this level of exposure and money yet, imo he hasn't earned the right to be in the ring with nonito yet...people are rating him highly like bute, based on potential and how good he MIGHT Be...nonito is far more advanced career wise and rigo don't deserve it yet, he has to earn it:booty:
Oh & he got by Corboda fine, a veteran of over 40 fights (1 legit loss to a damn decent prime fighter in Bernard Dunne) that holds wins over Cabellero and two draws (should of won both) against a PRIME Sydorenko. He did that in only his 6th or 7th pro outing though one retarded judge was watching a completely different fight, clearly.
He did that in his 6th or 7th pro fight, beat a better fighter than what Donaire has since he beat Montiel several fights back.
How on earth can you justify this clown & his corrupt team is beyond me.
Keep handing out to watch him fight handpicked guys who stand not a chance such as Jeffrey Mathebula, I am done with Donaire as he clearly has zero intentions of taking on a legit challenger.

When you're rehydrating such ridiculous amounts and are picking on the smallest, weakest guys you can possibly face you may as well be fcukin' doping.
A huge 122lb guy that likely rehydrates near the 135 mark should flat out not be fighting guys who can barely make 112-115lbs
Its ridiculous and I don't care how many say its fine as long as they can make the stupid ass weigh in limit the day before.
Bring back same day weigh ins!
Its okay though I'm sure Chavez Jr could cut to light middle if he really tried hard enough, he can then rehydrate to 180lbs and fight some light middleweights like Cintron, Prince Arron, oh no wait Prince Arron is way to tall, lets look for a smaller opponent (One coming off a loss) Deandre Latimore = PERFECT!
CHAVEZ = P4P KING!
Please provide some fightnight numbers. The only one I'm aware of was vs Montiel, when Donaire was outweighted by 2 weightclasses according to HBO.
How do you feel about ODLH career pre welter? How about Hearns before LHW? How about Broner, Margarito, Corrales, PWill, all punks that couldn't handle guys their size?
Also, I thought fighting so badly drained was a huge disadvantage?
what is donaires true weight??? he looked a little fat around the wast in his last fight and has looked a little flat, maybe he hasn't had enough time to gain functional weight and needs time to adjust and settle at the weight,,,how high could he go though?? :boxing::booty:

JCCj could make 126 if he wanted...Top Rank probably already has a scale for it.
