Went down by some of the shots that Bute landed on Froch. Abraham, Kessler, Jermain Taylor, and Dirrell (all fighters in the Super Six) would have probably been at least knocked down if they took some of the same shots that Froch took.
Froch's chin is out of this world. Couple that with the unrelenting pressure and punches that Froch comes with, and it spelled out disaster for Bute.
Ive been a Froch fan for a while, and didnt think there was anyway that he was going to be Bute. The Cobra proved me, and a lot of other Froch fans wrong tonight.
WAR COBRA!

Doesn't change the fact that he still got lit up by a very slow fighter. Froch's chin is excellent, but he shouldn't be landing clean on any elite fighter. Dirrell and Ward made him look retarded.
Froch has good power but he isn't a concussive 1 punch guy. Taking that many flush shots will put ANYONE away. That said Dirrell, Kessler, even Taylor to a lesser extent had the skills defensively or in other areas so Froch bulldozing through was not an option. So yeah Bute was exposed IMO and that many flush good shots will put anyone away, but those guys dealt with it(Taylor was dealing with it until has stamina issues crept back in as usual). Ward was right in not just immediately giving him the shot to become undisputed champ. Styles make fights so who knows what will happen if he fought Dirrell, Kessler, Ward, but sitting on the ropes waiting for 1 big shot at this level won't cut it.
Its a ghost.
Havent seen you post in forever.
This forum has turned into a pile of steaming dung over the past year. The mods are nazis and the average poster knows f*ck all about boxing. Almost everyone who was here back in boxingscene's glory days has either left or been banned for having a sense of humor.
I only hopped back on for a few "I told you so" posts since I have been telling everyone Bute was a joke for a couple years now.
Of course 90% of morons on this site picked Bute to win, just evidencing my point that very few people actually follow the sport and know how to analyze a fighters strengths and weaknesses.
Bute didn't land anything worth noting. When he did land punches he was moving backwards or his feet weren't even set. No power on those kind of shots.
His legs were gone after the 2nd, no steam on any of his punches and no power from his core. He might have been able to drop Amir Khan with those shots, but not a world class super middle.
In wish I could agree, but in round 1, (which Bute actually won), he did land a couple sneaky, powerful straight lefts. It's just that Froch is a Cobra & Cobra's are savages. Lesser fighters that Bute was used to might have fallen but not a world class fighter.

From Bute's mediocre resume alone I knew he had absolutely no business sharing the same ring with a fighter like Froch. And I couldn't believe how many people thought that he would actually win. From the 1st time they said the fight was a possibility I said Froch whoops him. Froch is too much man for a pampered fabricated fighter like Bute.
It's like Clint Eastwood vs Justin Bieber.
Who cares if other fighters would have gone down from those shots. Other fighters avoided those shots. Bute had no answer for Froch's uppercut and left hook. He had no idea when Froch was feinting or throwing. He was completely outclassed.
I don't think Bute sucks, but he's definitely not as good as some of us (me included) thought he was. Froch hasn't looked that dominant in years. At least AA lasted 12.
If they got hit flush with those shots, yes. Those fighters didn't get destroyed like Bute though, Bute was like a deer caught in the headlights, his defense is so bad he didn't know what to do. This was one of Froch's easiest fights if you think about it, even Johnson put up a tougher fight but faded near the end.
Bute has an elite offense, but his chin/defense are on the level of a c fighter and that won't fly with an elite SMW. Froch just walked through him like nothing, Bute is used to his shots doing major damage, this wasnt the case against a great fighter like Froch though.
Bute loses to Ward, Kessler, Dirrel, and a couple others, Bute just isn't that good.
I remember Kessler hit Froch with a perfectly timed HUGE straight right right on Carl's chin in their fight. I mean you couldn't hit a person any cleaner and more crisp. Froch's legs wobbled for just a tad second, and then he just fired back like he always does. Guy is tough as pine knot. The thing i love about Froch is when you do stun him it just pisses him off more and he immediately fires back. That's the heart of a champion.
