LUCIAN BUTE says he will beat the boo-boys to triumph over Carl Froch in his own backyard tomorrow night.
Canadian Bute defends his IBF world super-middleweight title against Froch in front of a hostile crowd at Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena.
He knows he will be jeered and booed throughout by the partisan capacity crowd, but said: “I will turn it all to my advantage.”

You think the reason was to do with Bika's power, but I am entitled to my own opinion & did see that fight and would say it wasn't so much his power but his awkward style & ruggedness. Bika is wild and makes just about everybody look bad.
It was a scrappy fight with both using forearms, clinching, headbutts etc (Mainly Bika trying to make it a dog fight which he did)
Bika made Ward fight his style of fight which just shows how versatile Ward is IMO
Bika, Berrio, Zuniga, Miranda, Andrade, Johnson all have similar power to Froch. Some of them probably even more.
Bute does have all the advantages I just hope he doesn't get to counter punch happy looking for land one big shot at a time he needs to let his hands go punches in bunches
Completely agree with this. Bute's last few fights he hasn't been throwing as many combinations and its a easier fight for him when he does as he wins rounds more decisively.
Now alot of his knockouts do come from single perfectly timed counter punches but he needs to find a happy medium. When he only throws single shots it allows his opponent to be more competitive with him than he otherwise would be.

i dont think u have too much to worry, bute usually punches in combinations, he does sometimes looks for one punch, but more so than not, he throws in combos, and even when he looks for one shot, he does it in a smart way, he's looking for an opening before he throws
also look out for bute's body work, very effective and powerful when he goes to the body

Bute is better in almost every way! better punch power, timing, accuracy, variety, speed, punch anticipation, defense, movement, ring generalship maybe froch can take a shot better and has better stamina but you need more that that to stay at the top, thats why he has lost when it really counts and he has been gifted titles and not won them from champs. froch is a limited fighter who knows he is lucky to be getting these fights consistently and is taking them before the opportunities dry up....will be the same froch " it wasn't my night tonight but give me the rematch and i will destroy him, honest" just like after the ward fight. he is deluded if he thinks he is gonna be an all time great like ali!!! always makes me laugh especially when he said the ward fight was very very close:nutkick: also how can muppets call ppl they have never met armchair fans????? :fing26:
This is complete nonsense, Carl won the WBC after beating undefeated Pascal in one of the fights of the year the title may have been vacant but to say he was gifted a title by beating a solid previously unbeaten opponent is ridiculous.
Carl has earned the top fights he keeps getting to say otherwise is a joke, yes Carl isn't the most skilled fighter in the world and people can say he has overachieved for his ability but at the end of the day he has had the toughest run of opponents in boxing today that deserves credit.
You would be hard pushed to name a fighter who works harder Froch hasn't been given anything on a silver platter.

Golovkin is a middleweight who hasn't fought anybody of note...
:lol1:
Armchairboy, I'll take that as a no then:lol1:
I don't care if you box for fun you're still an armchair fan compared to Ward.
Next you'll be telling us how Froch has better one punch K.O power than Golovkin!

Froch hit Ward flush dirtily after the bell rang in one round in thier fight and it didn't put a dent on Wards face. I reiterate Froch has good not great power. Ward even said Bika and I quote "is his toughest fight to this date". The reason why has a lot to do with the power Bika has.
Who would know better YOU the armchair fan or Ward?

Froch tends to wear guys down from an accumulation of shots. But if you put those sort of guys Bika's knocked out against Froch he'd do the same thing & often did earlier in his career.
Froch has the power to rock, drop & K.O elite level fighters, Bika doesn't and never has IMO
Not implying Bika can't crack but I think Froch hits quite a bit harder personally & when Glen Johnson says you hit hard it stands for something.
It wasn't Bikas power that made it a tough fight for Ward it was more his style.
By your logic Bika hits harder than Kessler and AA as well.
Never said Bika's power was the only reason the fight was tough-it's a factor you can't count out. Ward was not deterred by Froch so-called Power, power, power talk (he even laughed it off to Virgil in the corner) and roughed him. Funny enough he's kept that power, power power talk to the background in this fight and has started this new location, location, location nonsense.

Bute says:
“I am the better fighter. I am stronger, have more speed and agility and I have good movement.
“I always believe that the fighter with more speed has the advantage and I honestly believe I have the advantage in this fight.”
...which can only mean that he thinks he'd lose to Andre Ward.:banana:

Journeyman or not, Bika has one punch K.O power. How long has it been since Froch K.O'd someone with one punch? Froch has good power and that's it.
The last time Bika got a K.O was in 2009 vs Nestor Casanova a guy who had already been K.Oed 9 times going into the fight.
The last time Froch got a K.O was also in 2009 vs a former world champion in Taylor.
Name one of Frochs last 7 opponents that you would feel confident of Bika stopping? Froch has been consistently fighting the best of course that is going to effect his K.O percentage. Not only has Froch fought the better opposition consistently he has a better K.O ratio, you don't really have an argument.

Bute UD.Too much speed and i honestly think Bute will get Froch's respect with his power would not be suprised him LB stopped the Cobra although that is my worry for Bute aswell Froch will be the best puncher he has faced.Should be an interesting night.WAR BUTE
What makes you think that? Neither have ever knocked out anybody above journeyman status. I don't think they have dropped anybody of note ever.
Miranda may well hit harder but Bika certainly doesn't.
