I agree Tarver -1 even tho Roy won changed him forever..Salido 1,2 may have derailed Lopz's career..Tito changed -Vargas's career.of course Douglas changed Mikes Career
The Paul Williams VS Sergio Martinez II. After that KO Williams will never be the same as before.. Mosely VS MArgarito fight, MArgs was never the same after that beating..
Even though he won the trilogy, Riddick Bowe was never the same fighter after he shared the ring with Evander Holyfield. He was basically shot after those fights, at the ripe old age of what...28?
That's what we are going to find out on September 15th. It could very well be that PW isn't at all washed up and just has easily exploitable weaknesses against southpaws. I think he has lost something, although he looked sharper against Ishida than he has in a long time. Big step down in competition level though so hard to tell.
He wasn't too bad in the first Martinez fight either. He got caught with a good shot in a 2 round fight. Then got schooled by a guy who nobody wants a part of.
I think a problem too is that his power isn't felt in yhe 154 division like it was ar 147. 147 was his best weight but nobody wanted anything to do with hom.
But you're right. We will find out in September. Biggest fight of his career coming up. We'll see if we get the Punisher that shocked a prime Margarito or the version that got schooled by Lara.
Maidana - Morales... Chino wasn´t the same after that fight...
And dude in your avatar exploded onto the scene with his controversial loss to Williams in the first fight.
To me, Martinez exposed Williams weaknesses. Lara, being a slick, patient southpaw studied this and landed the overhand left at will (no pun intended)
But i don't think that took anything out of Williams. He not a shot fighter. He's the same fighter. 1,000 punches a fight, low connect rate, while taking on some punishment.

P-Will-Martinez is looking like to could be one, Paul has been pretty awful since that first fight, nevermind the rematch.
Shane was already nearly done, but his career was basically ended after the 4th round against Mayweather. They say power is the last thing to leave a fighter, Floyd's counter punches made Shane gun-shy and in turn took his power.
Yeah I agree about PW-Martinez. I think PW's prime ended in that ring with Martinez. Hasn't fought that well again since. Of course it might not be fair to make a final judgement on that, but we'll know soon enough.
As limited as he is, he was highly rated by a lot of fans and was in line to fight JMM after Abril but Abril didn't get the memo.
I think he's referring to you how premature mentioning Rios when Rios is still in his twilight of his career and rightfully so.
Maybe we should ask this of Rios when he finally does fight a JMM/Maidana etc...

yea I guess. its jus funny to me whenever i see posts about rios being all that cause he is such trash. all he is an arrogant punk with a big mouth and a big punch. no skills past that...
Rios had a career?? news to me...
