Why doesn't Juan Manuel Marquez fight Devon Alexander if wants a Southpaw?

Strangely enough, Pacquiao has shown to be a better fighter than Devon, and Marquez has given Pacquiao all he can handle, but I see Devon actually beating Marquez. I don't think Devon would fall for the same tactics Pacquiao would fall for.

Obviously its all about money. Marquez cant afford to lose just like when Bradley blatantly avoided Khan.

I like both of these guys but i think JMM will have to much for Devon at this stage!!! I think it will be a good fight but Juan will win though!!!

Because Marquez just isn't as hungry as he used to be. After the 2nd pacquiao fight he had a chip on his shoulder and wanted to earn another shot at being seen as the best fighter in the world. Right now he feels entitled to the 4th fight.

This would be a very interesting fight, but a very unnecessary fight at this stage in Marquez's career. He's content with fighting one last big fight with Pacquiao and retiring, a very risky fight with Alexander isn't needed. And yeah, Alexander sucks the big one.

That would be a bad fight. The only reason to insist on fighting a southpaw would be for a 4th Pac fight, and Alexander isn't the style he would want.

Devon iz good solid competition at 140-147lb who iz a Southpaw! I knoe he fights at his new & improved weight 147 but i'm sure he would come down for the right type of money. Marquez wanted the fight with Peterson before the Khan fight got finalized, so i dnt see why he couldn't fight Alexander who doesn't have victim either. Marquaz steady fighting unkown bums since idk wen aint gettin it anymore for a Pac fight just to lose on the scorecards everytime lol! Actually , i would rather see Alexander vs Khan

Because that's absolutely insane. That's an extremely losable fight against a significantly bigger, and skilled man. He'll be lucky to make 2 million in that fight when he's got a 4th fight with Pacquiao that could net him 10 just around the corner.

Alexander is a very good fighter. I think Marquez is looking for a good southpaw, but not someone as good as Alexander who could beat him and kill the Pacquiao fight. He wants someone better than a bum but Alexander is one of the best welterweights in the world and he is to dangerous for a tune up fight for Pacquiao. I am pretty sure Alexander is not going to fight at 140 ever again after his great performance with Maidana at 147. Alexander is better than Peterson but the fact that Marquez was willing to fight Peterson shows he is not trying to hand pick bums. Alexander is just to good.
