the commercialization and the humongous amount of money being invested in the various pro leagues (NBA, NFL etc..) have definitely contributed the killer blow to heavyweight boxing in the US..an physically gifted athlete here would make the sensible choice and put his skills and physical advantages to his financial benefit..i would imagine Dwight Howard for example would have been able to deal with the klitchkos had he pursued boxing
just sayin
No one knows the future. Just because it seems like there is no hope for an American HW champion, doesn't mean there isn't one right around the corner. Back in the 80's and even 90's, it seemed like there would never be a white guy good enough to dominate the HW division and look what happened. Whites actually took over. lol
The Drago Dynasty.

The title will be up for grabs once the Klits retire, there is no clear successor. I have a big feeling once Wlad retires a TON of cruisers are going to move up.
Kids practice and play sports because they enjoy them and that's how they become good at the sport and a few will be lucky enough to do it as a career. They don't just wake up one morning and say i'm going to play basketball because there's more money in it.
All it'd take is one gifted, talented, big dude to take an interest in boxing. He doesn't even have to be that good if he establishes himself in the vacuum the Klitschkos are going to leave
But it seems as though this guy is more likely to come from another country. Americans had their fun with HW.
How can you make such a out the blue statement like that??the sport of boxing aint going anywhere and there will be many more champions throughout it's history
