At 147 Floyds will own him !!! it will be embarrassing after all the hoopla in making the match in how easy Floyd wins it .
Pac cannot touch Floyd on the outside or the inside and at the weight Floyd is just gunna do what ever he likes , Floyd is so much stronger than Manny and carrys more speed and has the best boxing brain in the sport , Manny will get tagged cleanly like never before !
Even if you think Pacquiao takes it anyway.
Mayweather should try and knock Pacquiao out, go toe to toe with him for 12 grueling rounds. That is the best strategy for Floyd.......
Mayweather just has to be himself in that fight.
Everything Pacquiao struggles with, Mayweather has it. Box him, move out of range, counter when he lunges....he has just about every advantage in that fight.
people dont wanna hear this but Cotto is a better technical boxer than Pacquiao so some of the things Cotto does defensively can give a lower volume guy like Floyd problems, whereas Manny is a thousand times more predictable for a skilled counter puncher (we've seen 3 episodes of that show havent we?)
Floyd saw something on Pacquaio you gullible fans of him failed big time. Just get a clue from your coward boy as up to now he still hiding behind his mother skirt (OST). Pac already agreed to the test but your thick skinned boy still has the face to talk about the test like Pac didn't agree to his demand.
A few years ago I would've said make Pacquiao chase him, keep pot-shotting and move.
These days I don't think Floyd can move away anymore and eventually he'd end up in a toe-to-toe situation and get dropped.
He ran from cotto half of the fight...Once roach said this shiet, everyone started repeating it, the guy is old, retarded, and senile his judgement is not wroth trusting...watch Floyd's fight for urself, and see his legs are fast!
For the first half of the fight, Floyd needs to keep it the center of the ring, the majority of the time, move to his left, to keep pac off balance so that he can't land that big left hand.
Floyd while moving to his left, needs to throw jabs(high & low) and right hands to Pac's body(liver) and head, to soften pac up a bit.
Of course throw some feints to give pac something to think about, so that he just can't come lunging in.
If pac should get in close, Floyd needs to tie pac up, so that he can't get any punches in.
By the mid rounds, Pac should be frustrated, he would be taking more chances, lunging/falling in trying to land that straight left. By this time Floyd will already have Pacs timing down, perfect opportunity for Floyd to counter pac and make him pay. Second half of the fight or last three rounds, will be all Mayweather.
Manny is a thousand times more predictable for a skilled counter puncher (we've seen 3 episodes of that show havent we?)
This is a good point. I say what Floyd needs to do is assume a very low angular stance which will take away Manny's in and out movement and wait to counter him from there. Manny will have to come inside, plant himself and punch downward to land on Floyd, opening up all kinds of countering opportunities. The more he tries to punch in bunches, the more exposed he will be for viscous counters (because of how low he has to bring his hands down). Furthermore it's harder to throw authoritative punches at a target at your belt line, and Floyd of course is going to be slipping and rolling as well. It's a nightmare strategy for Pacquiao

Keep moving and fustrate him with timely right hands and clinching. Make The pacmonster think, sort of like Marquez did. He doesn't need his legs because PAC can't cut the ring off, he use to guys coming at him, which wouldn't be the case with floyd. I always said this would be a boring UD for May, but u never know, even Tyson got caught.....
First in this fight, Floyd has to gather his balls to get back his confidence so that he can beat his worst nightmare. In all sports, self confidence is really important because this is where all your mental strength comes from.
I have to disagree. IMO Pacquiao would love nothing more than for Mayweather to come forward be the aggressor. I think Floyd needs to make himself as hard to hit as possible while timing his punches on Pacquiao so well that they can't be countered easily. It's hard to see how he manages it, at least in any first fight. Remember it took Marquez 3 fights to definitively beat Pacquiao and even then he was out-landed.
About 3 years ago, I would have agreed with you. But revelations from his last fight with Cotto showed his vulnerability already of being hit. Thus if he would present himself this way against Pacquiao, I think Pacquiao can exploit those openings and give him a beating. At least Cotto did some of that.
It isn't a good idea to just be "Defensive" with him by being passive. May has to be "defensive" by being aggressive, it that makes sense.

May have to use his reach and keep Pac at bay with his jabs - and May isn't that kind of a boxer but he can potshot here and there that translate to "jabs". I think that May can go toe-to-toe with Pac, provided that he is the aggressor and just keep on his accurate punches.
If May would try to be a counter-puncher, I think that he has aged a bit and with Cotto this has shown that May can be countered and deterred. Pacquiao is much faster than Cotto and it isn't a good idea to just be "Defensive" with him by being passive. May has to be "defensive" by being aggressive, it that makes sense.
May has the reach, size and he has to bully Pac instead of letting him come up to him, that could be really risky considering that Pac is a fast punching machine who can punch from all angles with ferocity and frequency. So CLINCHING is a very big part...
Clinch when Pac closes in, bully him - make it extremely hard for him to come close. Greet him with a potshot or even a combo and be patient with him. Pac is an extra-ordinary athlete who can go the late rounds punching and punching - thus with May's accurate punches, he needs to do this. May can't knock him down early.
So if May can do these, by the latter end of the fight, say 10th, 11th and 12th - May can potentially KO or TKO Pac. But that is easier said than done. If anything, May has slowed down a bit and aged and thus he cannot risk being too "defensive" and just using counters against Pac.
He needs to be aggressive.
