And it wasn't as bad as what I first thought, Wlad won it by a wide margain (116-111) on my card but a lot of the rounds were very close whereby Haye was probably one flurry away from gaining the round. His head movement was very good and he made Wlad look silly at times, Haye just couldn't find away in to hurt Wladimir, size won this fight for Wlad.
I hope they fight again, maybe in 18 months time and with a different set of tactics, who knows? Wlad hit Haye with big shots and he took them well, Haye hit Wlad with big shots and nearly all of them shook him up, he just couldn't back them up with a sustained attack.
Haye's a counter-puncher? In which fight has he been a pure counter-puncher? Against Harrison? Ruiz? Maccaroni? Valuev? Gimme a break. He stormed bums like Harrison because he knew he could. When he 'tried' against Wlad, he was on his knees looking sorry for himself. I'm sorry but had Haye been a warrior, he would have put up a spectacular effort for his career-defining fight. He literally fell short, gave up and survived. Now he's after another mega payday against an old man who would beat him.If he can talk enough crap that he keeps getting these fights, more power to him for selling himself so well!
haye wasnt as bad as a lot made out but he was still pretty poor, not a bit suprised by his performance though, haye always was a total spoofer and he always will be, he got his cash and his toe excuse, hes just back to make another big pay day, i dont expect him to really challenge the klits, he hasnt got it in him
It was evident early on that Wlad would dictate the fight as the clear Ring General. Haye was at the end of Wlad's jab and sure Haye might've tried, but deep in his heart he was resigned because a true warrior doesn't do what Haye did and then pull out his pinky. Haye could've gone for broke and tried to go out on his shield in what was ultimately his career-defining fight. It's a big stain on Haye's career, and it ain't gonna go away.
You mean do what Adamek did and fight like a retard before getting knocked out? Its not Haye's style, he's a counter puncher.
I don't get this "he came to survive" sh1t. He hurt Wlad in the 12th round so obviously he was still trying. He just didn't try hard enough or consistently enough. He couldn't find openings or opportunities to attack. And obviously he wasn't gonna just bumrush Wlad, if you thought that was gonna happen, you're an idiot.
It wasn't a very impressive performance from Wlad in my opinion but it was by no means close. However, I would never put myself through watching it again unless I was planning to bet on them.
Adamek didn't do **** either except get his ass whooped and took it like a man, Haye cried about a damn toe. Adamek got props for being a punching bag, he couldn't do **** either.
Haye took way more chances though. I'm not trying to act like he did a ton, but he would bum rush Wlad about once a round with big overhand rights and even hurt him in the 12th. Not saying that's doing much, but that was more effort than Adamek gave.
I'll still maintain that Haye put up just as much, if not more, of an effort against Wlad than Adamek did against Vitali.
Yet Adamek was praised.....Haye should have expected that for all the sh1t he talked but I still disagree with it.Adamek didn't do **** either except get his ass whooped and took it like a man, Haye cried about a damn toe. Adamek got props for being a punching bag, he couldn't do **** either.
Think people underestimated Wlad's speed of foot, he was able to get away from attacks that Vitali wouldn't. Haye would beat Vitali, I'm fairly sure of it.

I wouldn't say he didn't try, he couldn't get to Wlad, he's too big and he uses his size and weight very very effectively.I agree that it is not easy for anyone to look good against Wlad, but really Haye spent the whole fight running and slipping jabs. That's not trying, it's surviving.
I just don't get how people call it a dominant performance.
Haye gave the fight away....didnt even try.

I think Haye lost heart when the big rights he threw in the first couple of rounds didn't come close to landing. He really seemed to think that was how he was going to win the fight.

Haye gave the fight away....didnt even try.Seriously. Haye tried for maybe 15 seconds of 2 rounds.
It was pathetic. Haye didn't do much at all, and Wlad won rounds by landing one or two right hands. One of those close but not close fights to score. Individual rounds might have gone to Haye if he hadn't fought like crap, but he did so Wlad got them.
I ignore the smack talk, you always knew Haye respected Wladimir, he just done it to sell the fight and make £££. The toe excuse was just heat of the moment stuff, would it have made a difference? A tiny little bit, but not enough for it to be an excuse.
What would make you watch it again?
To be honest if Haye hadn't had hyped it like he did (talking all that smack in the build up) and then come out with that toe excuse afterwards, I don't think there would be such a backlash against him (which at times has been over the top).
A fully fit Haye and who knows what happens. But Vitali is still his best shot at beating a Klitschko.
