What does losing ur legs have to do with throwing 17 punch combos...not only that, but Floyd actually ran, and boxed in this fight...U been listening to roach too much...Floyd is a student of the game, he improves each and every fight...against Marquez he had no power, so he worked on it for his fight with Shane...against Shane, he was overly cautious, and very flatfooted, and he was criticized for both...when Pac fought shane, pac threw caution to the wind, and was still able to avoid punches, thats when Floyd realized he wasted portions of his career being more cautious than he needed to be, so he wanted to be more exciting, and this new Floyd was brought about during the promotion for the ortiz fight...against Ortiz, he threw twice as many punches as he threw againt shane, his feet were faster, walked him down, and perfct aggression..BUT he only threw three punches...hooks, right hands, lead rights....against Cotto and Omar, he was closer to perfected...he threw every punch in the book, sweeping rights, which I never saw him throw, better angles, more sharper, diverse arsenal, but he was almost so aggressive that he was reckless in some spots...Floyd will be better in his next fight...it doesnt stop may 5th...few can pay attention to detail, and ur not one of them!
17 punch combo LOL!!!!!!
He wants to stand toe to toe to make more entertaining fights because he knows he is probably retiring real soon...ORRR He is just tired of boxing motherf*ckers EZ work is getting 2EZ
What a load of tripe!!! It's because he is 35 and his reflexes have slowed and particularly his feet. He can't physically move his feet non stop for 12 rds anymore like say what he did against Baldomir, Castillo 2, Corrales. This is why he is throwing combos, if you are not moving as much you need to sit down and throw combos. Pot shotting requires constant moving to reset your opponent.
Yea those combos he throws are smooth. I agree with alot of you guys he had to throw combos to win. I dont believe he went toe to toe for the fans though. I mean this is a guy who worry about his money more then his legacy. I hope he doesnt retire though. I wanna see him in against a couple of guys.
Because he does what he has to, to win fights. I don't see why ANYONE is surprised as he only stated over and over and over and over again that he was going to stand toe to toe and make it an exciting fight. Did he not?
Again, Floyd did exactly what he had to do to win nearly every round. 2-3 rounds Cotto had in the bag because of his pressure and punches that gave Floyd a bloody nose which IMO is better than having a fooked up face and busted ear drum at a catchweight if you ask me. Just sayin.......
funny how you threw that in their lol

i honestly think he is adapting to who he is fighting, also considering he has a history of hand problems he couldnt commit like he wanted to....He hands probably feel the best they have in a long time......from around 2000 til his first retirement his hands were always a big concern often won fights with hand injuries
:lol1: :lol1:
You a sad dude if you think Uncle Roger doesn't watch film on FMJs opponents.
You are STUPID if you think FMJ doesn't listen to everything Unc has to say.
maybe because hitting his opponents with more than 1 punch at a time makes it easier to win his fights?
More so helps him to do more damage, get KO's which is what HE HIMSELF has been saying he wanted to get, and get the crowd going wild!
I say that if anyone is appearing to lose their legs, then it is Miguel Cotto; Whose legs had been buckled several times throughout the fight, especially from Floyd Mayweather's left uppercuts and most notably the final round. This is despite of the fact, that he was much heavier in this bout, than in any other previous bout; Which also includes his two KO losses to Margarito and Pacquiao.
For the money... The general public was growing tired of being tricked into watching him fight without getting a good show in return. He had to change something before he lost his appeal.
Also, he seems to have reverted to fighting the way he used to before moving up and fighting do cautiously. He's comfortable at the weight and is doing almost everything the fans ask of him to help his legacy -- outside of the PAC fight.
I also noticed, he was fighting like he did in the gatti fight...fast as HELL with those combinations in the 4th rnd, he put on a hell of a show, but he was so offensive minded that he got reckless in some spots, and he forgot his defense...Floyd gets better each and every fight, in his next fight, he wont get touched! watch n see

It makes no sense to me that he would run against Ricky Hatton yet "choose" to fight Cotto toe-to-toe.
LOL, Changing the subject again...First of all, Floyd didnt run from hatton...Second of all, AGAIN, WHAT DOES FIGHTING TOE TO TOE HAVE TO DO WITH THROWING COMBINATIONS, WHICH WAS WHAT OUR DEBATE WAS ABOUT...Third of ALL, HE WENT TOE TO TOE WITH COTTO, AND USED HIS FOOTWORK, AND RAN HALF OF THE FIGHT....Listen to urself!..LOL
IMO, i think he lost a step... blame it on age, rust, lack of motivation, boredom, etc....but i honestly dont think he is PURPOSELY choosing to sit there and trade punches... if he is, i DOUBT he would do that with a dangerous puncher...
especially if he plans on sticking around 154... but either way, boxing fans appreciate it and i hope he continues to show more heart than brains (he already proved he is one of the smartest in the ring).
In pretty much any sport the athletes will tell you your legs are the first thing to go. The guy is 35. C'mon people, no matter how much you like Floyd this is just the natural effects of aging. He might not believe it, you might not believe it, but this is pretty common. How many 35 year old running backs, strikers, or attacking midfielders do you see? Exactly.
Not true, he ran and boxed on the backfoot, for pretty much HALF of the cotto fight...If u said he was losing his legs, and u could prove it to me, then I would agree with u...but some of u guys dont even watch boxing, u guys didnt see him running from cotto when his corner told him to get off the ropes?..Im almost shocked that Im having this arguement...But ALL of u have been listening to roach, no one said it until he said it, and the guy is mentally retarded, he's not right, u cant listen to his senile azz says..LOL
Man u just changed up ur whole arguement...I didnt say ANYTHING about Floyd getting hit...We're talking about him THROWING COMBINATIONS...WHAT DOES THROWING COMBINATIONS HAVE TO DO WITH HIM GETTING HIT?...LOL..Pay attention to urself so u wont change the subject again...I even said, he was so offensive minded that he got reckless in some spots...Nate jones has done interviews with another boxing site, and he told us before the Ortiz fight, that Floyd was working on throwing combinations, and that Floyd was gonna stop Ortiz with an accumelation of punches...You remind me of max kellerman...he asks Floyd why is he being more aggressive, and Floyd told him the answer.."I dont have to run if I dont want to"...then Max goes and writes his own story saying, Floyd is doing it cuz he lost his legs, but against Ortiz and Cotto, he was running and boxing on the backfoot...You even agree with me, u just PRETENDING that u dont, cuz u take urself so seriously, that u hate to admit ur wrong...its no big deal tho, Fighters grow each and everyday, and Floyd let his hands, GO, GO, GO!!!
Wrong about what? This is nothing you can prove either way. You can have your opinion and I'll have mine. Floyd has been getting hit with shots he wouldn't usually get hit with in his last 3 fights - to you he's doing that on purpose lol. Thats fine. Agree to disagree.
