If he were to retire right now, is he a bona fide true legit Hall of FAmer worthy to be in the IBHOF?
What are his top 3 wins? Mosley, Judah, Torres or Malignaggi?
Losses to Pacquiao, Mayweather and Margarito.
3 division champion.
37-3.
Does he get in?

Seriously, cotto has one hall of fame win. a past prime mosley. Cotto is not done yet.
You think cotto gets in if he loses to chavez jr. or kirkland or sergio?
only a bias fan would claim cotto was a sure fire lock before the floyd fight a loss i might add.
a real, honest boxing fan's proper answer would be not yet or on his way.
Again, because you keep acting like a moron over and over, I never said Cotto SHOULD be a lock, because he isn't a lock based on what he's done. But, when taking into account winning titles in 3 weight classes and who has gotten in before him, he'll without a doubt get in. I didn't think Kostya Tszyu was a lock either based on his wins, and he got in the HOF in his first year on the ballot.
I still think Castillo has better wins than Cotto.
Cotto isn't done though, stop acting like an idiot and saying I think Cotto should be a lock. He shouldn't be a lock, but based on others who have gotten in, he'll without a doubt get in.

An honest boxing fan's proper answer would actually be, "He is already in, in my book"
I voted maybe. Fighters that were not as good as Cotto made it to the hall so if he ends up there then good for him. I see from the poll that most think he is a sure thing. If he was not going to the hall before the Mayweather fight I don't understand why he is suddenly going to the hall now. He just lost a fight by a wide margin so how does that help him get into the hall of fame?
I said Cotto will get in the HOF before the Floyd fight was made, and also said Cotto was a god win for Pac. He was the WBO WW chamo and the #2 ranked WW at the time. It was a good win for Pac, he was past his prime-still good. It was a good win for Floyd too.
Only the bias fans of both say otherwise.

Suuuuurrrre you would. You ain't fooling me Flawless. You even made fun of Miguel's wife crying and called him a coward that wasn't any good.

beat a undefeated Paulie
beat a undefeated quitana
beat HOFer Mosley
Beat Zab
beat Margarito
Beat undefeated Foreman
Beat former world champ Mayorga
3 weight champ i say yes he is. maybe not first ballot bt he willl be in
I dont havr the list in front of me but off the top of my head. Basillio, Fulmar, Norton, Tszyu, Tyson, Pryor all got in off of wins over great fighters heavily past their prime or other feats that resemble Miguel's.
I think even Pipino Cueves might be in there.
Because he fought Floyd. Most of them were critics of Cotto when he fought Pac and Pac whooped his ass. It's all flip flopping with these so called "hardcores". They vote on what benefits their favorite boxers more than logic.
Sorry but no. I am not a Cotto fan, and even before the Floyd fight was announced, I would have told you that Cotto gets into the HOF easily.
Hopkins was/is talented enough to beat a top talent like Manny/Floyd? Maybe the old Bernard could by clinching the whole time:lol1:. The 90s Hopkins wouldn't last that's for sure.
:ugh:
Bernard Hopkins is one of the best fighters of all time.
If you're trying to say anything otherwise I'll find it difficult to take you very seriously, as will any other unbiased boxing observer.
It's always hilarious to listen to kids chatter nonsense about how Hopkins was picking on a "smaller Trinidad," ect, when everybody expected Tito to kill him at the time.
What's your excuse for the Tarver wipeout?
There's no debate about it. Once his name hits the list he'll be voted in. I have no doubt about that.
I think when a fighter looses we forget how good they are. Mosley, Oscar and arguably Cotto didnt duck too much competition. Cotto beat Judah and that was a legit win eventhough Judah hasnt ever beat a top tier fighter. Cotto couldve truly put himself over the hump with a win over Paul Williams and he can still beat Canelo and Ortiz and make himself more viable. I would vote him in. There are only three fighter from this era who are without a doubt getting in and thats Floyd, Bernard and Marquez. Mosley IMO is already in and his legacy is only being tarnished because of that ***** Gin Mosley and the American Judicial system that believes you need to rake a man over the oal in a divorce settlement. Any person with an able body should be able to earn there own money. Cotto was protected by Arum but what fighter that has fought for Arum wasnt. It seems Arum didnt really care too much for Floyd or Cotto because he tried to feed them to the wolves.
Miguel is already competing at a weight hes too small for. If he loses to a super middle who drains himself for 160 it won't mean a damn thing for his legacy.
Look at the hof and there a lot of guys who wouldnt make the cut based on your standards.
No doubt. He probably hasn't looked into who is actually in the IBHOF. All sorts of fighters, literally, "hardcore fight fans" have never even heard of and know nothing about.

cmon dude, this is teh same guy who said in this very thread that nsb is not populated with ptards and fmos.
never said that.
Cotto is no lock to get in. Cotto could lose to julio cesar chavez jr for all we know and are you guys going to say he's surefire?
Cotto isnt done. He could totally fall off especially since he's talking about going up to 160.

You didn't need this thread to make that sh1t come out. I have been very critical of Hopkins in the past. Hopkins despite being hated by a lot has like a security blanket around him because he's old and went on to do some impressive things. I'm not worried about ruffling someones feathers and have stated my opinion on him quite a few times. Same goes with the Klitschkos and many Europeans fighters and their lack of testing themselves vs the best.
The Klitschko's should be removed from this list.
It's not their fault that they didn't fight in a very good era for HW's. The Top wins on both Klitschko's resume's are probably David Haye, Chris Byrd, Tomasz Adamek, Samuel Peter, Calin Brock, Corrie Sanders, Ruslan Chagev, Eddie Chambers, Chirs Arreola, and Shannon Briggs.
They did beat everyone though.
Do you know how to read? I already addressed that I give Cotto no credit on giving Floyd a tough fight. I certainly don't discredit him for losing though. It sucks that Bernard Hopkins couldn't ever get in the ring with someone with half of Floyds talent though. He would of got his sh1t pushed in just like he did against Calzaghe(an equally overrated fighter).
You're probably kidding. I hope.
:lol1: Do you know how small the HOF would be if to get in, you had to beat an ATG in his prime!?
I know and that's what is funny. This dude thinks you have to be LEGENDARY to make the hall of fame. If you know the history of this hall of fame you would know in American sports it is arguably the EASIEST to get in. Dude is acting like it is the baseball hall of fame.:lol1:

The MLB and NFL are hard as hell to get in. Cris Carter, Tim Brown, Jerome Bettis, haven't gotten in yet.
