What professional boxers have you met and talked to and were they cool or unpleasant? I personally have never held a conversation with any "famous" fighters but think it would be cool to hold a convo with some info we never get as fans
Jean Pascal was cool as hell
Andre Ward cool
Iceman John scully is cool as hell
Roger Mayweather cool as hell
Sergio Martinez cool
Roy Jones was cool
Bernard Hopkinks tries to be low key and go unnoticed
Andre dirrell is cool
Paulie is cool as hell
Have not really met anyone unpleasant. I have met more but very breifly.
wladimir klitschko, jan zaveck, paul delgado, denis simcic, rafal jackiewicz, christina hammer and probably more.
first two are simply awsome guys, good jokers, ready to give photos, interviews or whatever when you meet them. paul delgado is a huge fan of portuguese soccer team.
rafal jackiewicz wasn't that great though. i've met him in slovenia when he visited for the zaveck rematch and he acted like a total *******... he totally ignored all slovenia fans and chose to talk in polish only. good thing zaveck beat him next day...
Great to hear that Ward and Wladimir are cool
Met Alfredo Angulo, super serious just like he seems but also polite. Took a lot of pictures with fans and shook everyone's hand as they came up to him.
Margarito was really friendly too, he wanted to get to his seat for the Rios Antillon fight but he stopped and a took a picture with a dude in a wheelchair.
I met Buddy McGirt and he actually said what's up to me before I realized who he was. He asked me if I was from Brooklyn because of a shirt I had on. (I'm not lol) He seemed really cool.
I've been going to fights since I was like 12yrs old thanks to my pops who got me started and it's been awesome to be around and see many fighters and other boxing characters a lot of us would be familiar with. almost everyone I've ever met is great but most of the time I'm just gonna say whats up or shake hands for a moment. Over the years I've felt that boxers are the most accessible athletes around...it's why i'll always try to recommend ppl go out to these really big fights because you see all the boxing people we talk sh*t about here
I talked to Roy Jones Jr. once and he was like the nicest, coolest, down to earth guy.
Paul Spadafora talked to me once too, real motivating guy, full of boxing knowledge, just one of those if you believe it you can achieve it kind of guys.
Ssm was super cool. Hung out with him and his team at the cabin in big bear. Oscar was cool but a little weird
Sexy Sergio is super cool
Victor Ortiz is really cool mellow and positive
Margarito is really funny.
Mayweather was actually really cool. He seemed really down to earth not at all like he portrays himself in the 24/7
Margarito seem like he'd be pretty interesting. What was the deal with De La Hoya?

I've met Genaro "Chicanito" Hernandez at a boxing match, he's very sociable and cool. When the L.A. boxing gym was open, I met Bridgett "Babydoll" Riley (really nice and easy going) Jorge Paez, funny guy. When he finished his workout he was sporting some big ole glasses, the type that women wore back in the 80's. Said hello to, Francisco "Panchito" Bojado. Very cool and easy going is, Roger "Speedy" Gonzalez(when he trains, he's fun to watch) Met Clemente Medina(Abner Mares trainer) very nice person. Seen Jackie Collins at the gym, didn't say anything to her, just smiled she smiled back, she was talking with someone didn't want to disturb her. But my cousin who was with me, trying to flirt with her, walked up to her and asked if she was a fighter? She said no, and with a smile on her face handed him her business card, and said she's a lover .
I met Mike Sedillo at the Chino boxing club, he's really cool.
In Boyle Heights I seen Paul Gonzalez. We said hello to each other, looked like he was on the go, so I didn't want to bother him.
In Pomona, I met Shane and Jack Mosley. Both are very easy going and sociable.
And Lol at the guy who met Shane. I also "met" him once and nobody seemed to recognize him. Dude seems really "meek" I guess you could say. Does not have a big presence about him at all. I saw him and was like "wtf is that Shane Mosley?" He said what's up, I replied, went on about our business. I don't stay there talking to "celebrities" that I meet.
I ran into Emmit Smith and he had two kids with him one time and we almost bumped into each other and I was like. "...is that..." and he kind of stopped like "oh lord, time to sign.." but not in a douchey way or anything and kept walking.
One guy who IS fu cking HILARIOUS is Shawn Marion (who played for the suns).
Met DMX once..dude was SERIOUS as hell lol. Almost comically.
Kelly Pavlik, Mikey Garcia and Nonito Donaire.
Pavlik was a cool guy, was waiting in the lobby with everyone for a fight to start.
Mikey Garcia is a really down to earth guy. Let me take a picture with him when he was with his family and talk to him with his little one strapped to his chest.
Nonito was cool, sounded like a nice guy.... but he had body guards all over him and seemed like he was in a hurry
Nonito has bodyguards :lol1:
wow, honestly surprising and ridiculous IMO.
I have always read bad things of fans meeting Chavez Sr. But, when I met him he seemed, and very humble dude. He came up to our table at a restaurant and introduced himself. It was pretty cool experience.
Ernie Shavers is another man that I met. Very nice guy, had a pleasant conversation with him.
I was a kid when I met Chicanito Hernandez but from what I remember he was nice guy very humble.
I've met Chavez Sr a few times. He "lived" (as in had a house) a few houses away from my uncle and whenever we saw him he'd be "pleasant" and crack jokes n s hit like most dudes in Culiacan do. But people he'd hire to do work, stuff like that (people who had met him on different occasions, etc) many said he was an absolute d ick. A lot of women also claim him to be a d ick...and player. So not sure how to take that lol.
On a side note, I've also met Floyd once. He seemed chill and mellow, cracked some jokes too. Then again...a camera wasn't around soooo.... His d-bag was turned off I guess.
I've met Tyson like 3 times as well in Phoenix. He recognized me in a best buy since I had met him the day before. I thought I was the s hit for like 2 years cuz of that. <__<...
i meet pauly at a boxing tournament with everlast. he was frustrated, looked like he wanted to gtfo of the place lol. but he was cool he was takin pictures with alot of people and was purking his lips like a guido lol.
jmm is cool as hell, great guy. i meet nacho too, he was like 'oyes aqui en estados unidos la leche engorda no tomes mucha porque subes de peso' lol
english ' hey here in the states the milk has alot of fat, dont drink too much because your going to gain weight!' lol
I saw Sugar Shane Mosley at Home Depot once. What's crazy is it was busy yet no one had recognized him yet. I didn't want to spill the beans especially since I didnt have a camera/phone on hand or anything for him to sign. He knew I recognized him and just kind of smiled and kept walking with his shopping cart.
met Stevie "USS" Cunningham before, very cool guy who enjoys talking boxing
my friend met Adrien Broner and Rau'shee Warren (The Ohio Fighters are all very close and support each other apparently), said both was cool
also The Russell family are cool people as well, the father Gary Russell Sr and Jr as well as little brother Gary A. Russell
but Mike Tyson was kind of a A$$HOLE and extremely intimidating, you have to catch him in a good mood I guess
Not personally, but people at my gym have met Oscar, Tyson, Manny, and Ward, and they say they are are really cool and nice people, especially Tyson.
If I had my choice, I would want to go out for a night of partying with Ricky Hatton in London though!!!!
