Did anyone else listen? Does anyone know where they have gone?
I'm tempted to get in touch with Ricardo Lois and John Chavez myself to find out...
Mate i got an e-mail from Michael Marley (MARLEEEE) saying that both were ona summer break...make of that what you will.
You are right..they have totally went AWOL , site down , no twitter address etc etc
Regarding the podcasts , is there a site that tells you how many listeners etc...i listen to quite a few of the boxing podcasts and would love to see how many listeners or downloads they get
cheers
I heard from numerous people, and I sort of agree, that their website had a habit of posting suspect numbers which contradicted the promoters. Some of their TV rating counts didn't add up. For example they wrote up an article saying HBO were lying about Canelo's tv ratings ... when it turned out they weren't lying at all. They also started the rumour that Cotto vs Manny only sold around 20k seats contrary to the reported 45k. The internet eats this stuff up without a second thought for evidence so I can see how that might annoy a promoter. I wouldn't be surprised to hear about them being sued.
I've been wondering where they went too. Unfortunately the last thing I could find from them was one of them posting a link to whatever the last big fight had been at the moment. I want to say it was the hopkins-dawson rematch, but maybe something else. My stomach sunk when I saw it cuz that probably got them in some ****... Hope they come back soon. I can't find another good boxing podcast that doesn't have at least one really douchey host making it hard to enjoy...
One of the hosts still writes articles for Examiner.com once and a while, I think he is the same guy named Ric?
I think the reason their show got shutdown was cause that guy Ric kept promoting or telling people to watch illegal streams of PPV fights and he watches them.
So maybe one of the TV companies or promoters filed a suit on them.
Its pretty stupid to even promote that saying watch Illegal streams everybody if he really said that. But thats the last I heard was he was encouraging others to search for illegal streams online and not put money in promoters pockets.
Re: lawsuit
They might not have broken the law at all, but someone can get a temporary injunction to halt all activities while it's being determined by a judge whether or not a law or right has been violated. I agree that they only talked boxing, but with 50,000+ downloads a week with some shows on iTunes podcasts, a promoter, a broadcaster, or competitor may have used comments about illegal streaming or language continually critical about a person or company to convince a judge to order a cease and desist of the show while evidence is considered. Any person or corporation can sue you, even if they won't ever win.
Or Ric and John are just done with it for unknown personal reasons.
Best show on boxing, I hope they return soon...
E=joesaiditstrue;12122261]law suit? what're you on boy? they just talk boxing bro, they have never done anything illegal and I've listen to them for the last 2 years
**** would they be hit with a lawsuit for? Maybe defamation but like someone said all they do is talk boxing.

They did a show last Sunday. I will hit TMoney up and find out.
that was an excellent show, i didn't download or listen to their episodes regularly because the damn file size was too big, like 150MB! each show was like 4 or 5 times the file size of a regular show you get off blogtalkradio. I got a slower net connection, a monthly download limit and not much hard drive space to spare so that file size killed it for me, i even asked them to do a low quality, small size download version which they never did..
last show i heard must have been maybe 6 weeks ago, they really gave the impression that it was just becoming a burden doing the show, like they lost the love for it.. they even said words to that effect.. not surprised they ended it, but it's a damn shame because they were one of the ATG shows out there. if they had a smaller file size i would have prolly heard every episode.
they did a show after hopkins/dawson and made no indication they had any intention of closing the show. as an above poster said, I assume they were threatened with some sort of lawsuit to have shut the show down so hastily and deleted all their social media profiles without a word. after so many years on the air it's just bizarre....
I have to believe they received a threatening lawsuit or injunction and shut down the show immediately. I sure hope they get the program back up and running...
Yeah I've been looking for them too. Doesn't sound like them that they'd get bought out. They really weren't making money from the show or website. Seems strange.
I heard they merged with a bigger company.
they didnt make any announcements in their 'last' episode or on social networks. very disappointing. thank you for the info tho.
