@KevinI That was a real question on the 18-30 crowd. I'm curious if boxing ratings are strong in that demo. Promoters are a prblm tho. #fact

@Pitmanite They are strong in that demo. Chavez Jr did 1 million in that demo on 2/4 out of 30m homes. Fox did 1.47 in that demo out of 110m

@KevinI How's it doing with the 18-30 crowd? Promoters killing the sport. More about them then putting on best fights.

@Pitmanite Pretty good, Jason. You're speaking without facts. I have two years of Nielsens. Want me to regale you?
Also in America the 2 most searched sporting events in 2011 were Mayweather/Ortiz and Pacquiao/Marquez III and Cotto/Margarito II was the 9th most searched sporting event on google. In 2010 Manny Pacquiao was the most searched athlete in America.
lol at people who think boxing is just going to dissappear, even after Mayweather and Pacquiao is gone, it may be a down period and the PPV Numbers won't be a huge, but more stars will emerge and boxing will be just fine
actually I think the next ERA of boxing could have A LOT MORE TALENT OVERALL!
Boxing in Latin America and Europe and parts of Asia mainly the Philippines have not been this strong in a long time but I will be the first person to admit it has lost a lot of luster/momentum in America I remember talking to one of my teachers in High school (5 years ago) right when De la hoya vs. Mayweather was going down and a few kids used to box in the class he taught and he was a life long boxing fan and he was saying how in the 70' and 80's so many young kids want to be the next great boxer and how niche it is now for kids to go into Boxing instead many kids are going into Baseball. Basketball, American Football and Hockey. He said to how it is still real big with inner city and poor kids.
People love fist fights, that will never change.
Outside a bar two fights are going on, one with two guys rolling around on the ground the other with two guys squared up punching, which would draw the biggest circle watching.

By way of comparison, the rebroadcast of the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez fight on Nov. 19 did 1.09 million overall viewers and 711,000 viewers on HBO among 18-49-year-olds. That was for a fight that had happened seven days earlier, when people already knew the result and which came on a network that has roughly 30 million homes compared to more than 110 million homes on Fox.
The live viewing of the April 28 boxing match between Bernard Hopkins and Chad Dawson on HBO attracted 1.57 million total viewers and 919,000 in the 18-49 demographic, despite being in 80 million fewer homes than UFC on Fox 3.
