These forums are crazy these days. What happened to Respect and taking personal bias out of giving judgements?
There's very few true fans of the sport here. If you don't see and respect both May weather & Pacquaio "in ring" skill then you don't love boxing. Your a fanboy. Period.
I love the aggression, angles, speed, and punching power of Pacquaio.
I love the defense, ring generalship, adaptability, speed of Mayweather.
They both have done tremendous things in the ring, neither are overhyped or underhyped. They are the best 2 boxers in the sport.
95% of the threads here are either negitive or complete nuthugging/negitive.
Can anyone here have logical debates or convo?
Shots fired.
haha, you like that? I had to fire up the engine on my first post of the day :lol1:
I almost always rooted against Oscar, i was a Quartey fan. But damn looking back at his career i miss the **** out of him. Dude had balls. he fought everyone.......no diva games, he wanted to fight the best to prove he was the best. Much respect. theres too much games these days.
You never know what you will miss about an athlete until they are gone. Oscar had many fans, and many haters. but one thing is for sure, he was always respected for fighting everyone! He had the heart of a lion, and his style and fundamentals were sharp as can be. Fighters like him are hard to find today.
yeah, calling fighters cowards or bums.......Bums the one that gets me. i would dare anyone who calls another fighter a bum to go to where he trains and spar him. it takes balls to get into the ring, and it does take skill to even be semi relevant. not everyone is going to be a superstar. or even Elite, but just because they are not, does not mean they have to hang them up.
Trash talk does come with sports no doubt, But at the end of the day people have to realize the truth. like for example, if manny looses to Bradley there will be hundred's of posts saying "see he was overhyped!", "Hes a BUM" and so on and so on.
We can talk trash and respect fighters at the same time, but very few are smart enough to do it.......
Yea bum is harsh, but it is usually used to get a rise out of people. Talking trash is fun, if it isn't too ridiculous. But talking and comparing matchups is fun. But things get heated when two passionate fans are stubborn about there favorite fighters.
Exactly. If only Floyd got the respect he deserved for being the undisputed best in the world and for being a class act, and Manny's fans could accept second place, we could actually have some productive and informative boxing discussion. It would be nice to discuss the sport free of biases and hate for once.

Oscar was my favorite fighter until he retired. I can't stand how people try to credit Mannys win over Oscar.

Absolutely. That's why I laugh when people call fighters cowards and things like that. And if you truly love this sport you can appreciate things about every fighter.
But antagonizing a fan about his favorite fighter when the opportunity is present is part of sports. Trash talk comes with sports, if you can't deal with that, then I just don't know what to say. It's part of a competitive nature.

Yeap...these type of fans are not new, the internet is! I remember when Oscar De La Hoya was hated during MOST OF HIS PRIME by his OWN PEOPLE and especially after he beat Chavez Sr., he was called "WHITE BOY" "SELL OUT" "HE IS NOT A TRUE MEXICAN" all that stuff, same for Pernell Whitaker: "HE RUNS" "HE IS BORING" so yeah trash talking always been apart of the sport and always will be

these are kids on the internet who are likely loners and anti-social in real life so they get on the internet and they put on this TOUGH GUY ACT...a lot of it is just for attention and to get a reaction/rise out of people and people can't resist but to give them the attention they are seeking...but they will get older and look back and laugh about the time they spent HATING MAYWEATHER or PACQUIAO and as they get older they will actually grow to have a lot more respect for those fighters once they are gone, a lot more then they have now that is for sure
but the internet made Respect "OPTIONAL" because you can get away with disrespect over the internet
when you go to a live boxing event, the atmosphere is a lot more mature then the BS you see on boxing forums, because at the event your not protected by a Keyboard and a Monitor and a ISP lol
Mayweather and Pacquiao take punches in the face for a living, I have no choice but to respect them, especially when you see their training and how hard these guys WORK just to prepare for a fight

You're just a butthurt Bradley AKA Klingon Warrior fanboy, bwahahaha.
I'm just playing homie. I feel ya. That poster Pac-Boy ALWAYS does it.
You jerk, I just punched my dog. I hope you have the money to pay for his vet bills.
When did Mannie "blow up ridiculously"?
Bottomline here is that Mannie fights are great fights.
Floyd fights are good fights.
I think he means when Manny fans started doing things like editing wikipedia to say Morales poisoned Manny, started appearing on youtube videos doing things like calling SRR and other black boxers monkeys while proclaiming pac the greatest ever, or when they protested the hall of fame to make Pac the first still active inductee. Perhaps their incessant spamming of boxing sites with hate-filled rants in broken English and accompanied by photoshopped buckets of KFC.
This being the internet, everyone started behaving at their level and that is online boxing forums as we know them today and how it will remain until Pac loses/retires.
Bwahaha is the most annoying thing a person can type. I literally want to punch something every time I see that on my screen.

1st bold: I absolutely agree, I used to be a Manny fan until he blew up ridiculously, now I love watching his fights but I haven't cheered for him to win one since before he fought Oscar.
2nd bold: If that is direct at me, I was clearly sarcastic earlier :lol1:

I agree to a certain extent and believe you have a point. This forum is overrun with droolers that take nuthugging to it's most extreme and it's almost impossible to have an intelligent conversation based on logic and sincere arguments without it getting lost in a flood of "lol u mad" "take da test" "floyd on vacation bbwahahaha" etc.
With that said i don't think we have to praise every fighter either. If i see something i disagree with i will let it be known. They are not gods to me so i treat them the same as i would with others whos service i pay for.
No need for endless fighter bashing, but in sports it's healthy to have some emotion invested. Whenever my favorite fighters go out there i hate their opponent fiercely for those 1-12 rounds.
I love watching Pac fights but i rarely root for him anymore and there's a fair few things about him that rubs me the wrong way. Same with Mayweather/Klitschko/Froch/Gamboa/etcetcetc for others.
What i do laugh about is how these absurd posters, previously mentioned, end up with posts like "Yes it's a damn shame some people cant just talk boxing" when they're doing their best to smother any sane discussing to an early death.
I think some of them just don't realize how terrible they are and the rest is just in it for the laughs.

But..................what if you don't like either?? Like me??:puppy_dog
Then your opinion is appreciated by people like me, because you are the most unbiased.

It would be strange. I wasn't here before Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, I have no clue what this site would look like without those two fanbases insulting each other. I don't think it has ever been respectful, not that I've seen.
There were still a lot of fanboys... but nothing on the May/Pac scale.

Yea I am a late bloomer when it comes to the whole forum thing, so I wasn't here before all that either. I actually didn't know it was that big of a "deal" until I found this site. Til then everyone I knew in real life I guess just thought Floyd was the best.
But with no Floyd or Manny hype boxing might die down for a bit. No one would draw in the casual fans.
haha, and the war rages on! lol.
It would be interesting to see what the boxing world is like if the fight ever does happen and any rematches that would follow. It would probably be a long time before a hyped fight of the same magnitude came along to replace it.
If the fight happened (it won't because Floyd won't), it would be the biggest show in boxing in a long time. A much needed boost. But, it wouldn't approach the levels of dramatics of the really famous stuff (Ali-Frazier, et al...).
