No, not in styles. I realize their styles are very different.
But I have seen many posters on NSB complain about how Floyd beat Ricky at 147 and 147 was not Ricky's best weight.
Is 147 Tim Bradley's best weight? How many fights has he had at WW? Who has he beaten at WW, and how did Tim look?
Tim Bradley is undefeated, Ricky Hatton was undefeated.
Tim Bradley is p4p #9, Ricky Hatton was p4p #8.
Tim Bradley stopped Devon Alexander who kinda quit, Ricky Hatton stopped Kostya Tszyu who kinda quit.
Please explain to be how Tim Bradley is a more formidable opponent than Ricky Hatton was.
Tim Bradley is Ricky Hatton without punching power.
I can see your point about 140. I won't take the time to research it though because we're talking about accomplishments at 147.
Oh, don't you worry bro, come June 10th we'll have a major Bradley accomplishment to talk about at 147!!
Bradley might not as strong. Which I think it's debatable. But, Bradley is a more complete fighter than Hatton was. More versatile as well. Bradley could fight in different ways. And, he has proved as much in his fights. Hatton was really just one way.
H2H I would pick Bradley to beat Ricky too.
This.
Hatton-Mayweather was a "better" fight in terms of timing. Both fighters were on a collision course and their was a demand for it.
However, Bradley-Pacquiao is a really good fight in sense of match ups. It will be competitive and it's a 50/50 fight IMO. The only reason there is a damper on this fight is the way Bradley secured the fight.
Still both fights are quality fights and quality names on each fighter's resume.
Tim Bradley beat the big bad Luis Abregu at 147. He didn't stop him, just won a UD. That's it.
If you ask me, Hatton getting a gift against Collazo at 147 was a better win than the Abregu win.
I've always said this fight should've been at 140.
Bradley fough better opponents on the way to being the #1 LWW than Hatton in did when he became #1 LWW champ.. Head to head, Bradley is a better fighter than Hatton..
But, Bradley is a more complete fighter than Hatton was. More versatile as well. Bradley could fight in different ways.
I would agree with that.
Bradley is overall a better boxer than Hatton. He just doesn't have the punching power.
And maybe Hatton's chin was a little better but that's it.
I guess if you put it like that. But Bradley is a far better fighter overall. He is more versatile than hatton especially defensively. Hatton fought only one way which was come forward face first.
Both Hatton and Bradley have said that when they aren't training, they walk around 160lb+. I honestly don't see the problem with Hatton/Bradley fighting at 147, since fighting at a higher weight should be beneficial because they don't have to drain themselves. Both are good match-ups and the weight won't be a deciding factor. Pac doesn't even reach the 147lb limit anyway.

I think TS was talking about what they'd done and how they were rated going in though. And it's pretty equal. Bradley beats Hatton H2H though as well.
Both were/are very good fights.
Tim Bradley is a better fighter than Ricky Hatton was.
But either way, this is a good fight and Floyd-Hatton was a good fight. The only people that complain about that fight complain about it after the fact cause they have an agenda.
Even though I like Bradley, I'd take a narrow win over Collazo over an easy win over Abregu.
Both of these fights are about equal. Floyd got big credit for Ricky Hatton, rightfully so. If Manny beats Bradley, he gets the same amount of credit in my eyes.
They're equal to you & that's fine. But I don't consider Pacman anywhere near as good a fighter as Floyd. Which is why Bradley-Pacman is a closer, better fight than Floyd-Hatton to me.
Never said he wasn't.

Bradley did son Abregu when they fought. Hatton did get a gift against Collazo. But other than that I'll simply say that Pacman has been feasting on either shot or weight drained fighters lately & has been looking increasingly vulnerable which is why Bradley seems out of the norm for him. When an overrated fighter like Pacman mans up & fights a young dangerous guy like Bradley after his recent string of garbage fights, what would you expect??
Collazo is far better than Abregu though.

I agree with you, but it is worth nothing that Hatton-Collazo was very close and a lot of people thought Hatton had lost, and he didn't look great. Although, Hatton wasn't in the best shape if I remember correctly and Collazo isn't a guy to overlook.
Yea, he and his trainer said that they didn't properly prepare for that fight.
