The chavez jr/ canelo syndrome

Man, I'll be the first to admit that a year ago I expected one of them to have lost already. They've both impressed in their last couple outings and have ALMOST earned to be champions in their divisions. We all know $$ was the reason they were handed those straps; it just wouldn't make sense to have them headline cards fighting 8 and 10 rounders. But it's dragged on long enough and I expect the next 18 months to be huge for both. Canelo absolutely destroys Kirkland if they fight. People jumped all over him after the Angulo fight but it was obvious Perro had gassed out. With Kirkland's punch resistance as weak as it is, Canelo's timing will be too much for him. Chavez Jr feels ready to take on anyone and I'm excited to see him in there with Sergio or even the improved Pavlik. I clowned these guys just as much as the next poster but it's hard not to respect them now. What they stand for is BS, but it's not their fault someone wanted to make $$ off of them.

at their age... with the quantity of their bouts... i won't call them bums... i bet that most of the posters here doesn't even know how to lace a glove...

Rubio had just come of that massive upset it was the right time and a legit fight. I dont see why people hate on jr so much bc he or bob arum dont want him to fight one of the best fighters in the world when his career is just getting started. I would understand if people would hate if he had been champion for years and fighting nobodies. Dude fought rubio right away After winning the title and is scheduled to fight a good fighter in lee. Murray was a very good fight he is undefeated and just showed he had what it took to hang out with a real world champ like sturm. But Lee ... meh i stopped following him after he got exposed by brian vera yeah he avenged that loss but still who has he beat with a pulse? If canelo fights kirkland ill eat my words but i doubt it

Rubio and rhodes where threats. Alot of people where saying they were going to lose those fights. Plus jr did fight molina. Il admit i havent watched those fights with molina so i cant comment. Canelo also fought vazquez a very good fighter on his way up. Rubio was but he should have fought rubio after he beat sooner rather than later. Chavez is stepping up faster than Canelo... but before that...nothing really. Rhodes... he's more of a domestic fighter than a world class fighter.

i could have sworn that one of the conditions that chavez jr renewed his contract with top rank was one being that he got the martinez fight He was mandated to fight Martinez 4 times already yet seemed to skate out each time.

lee is legit comp. alvarez is only 21 brah... he fought as good comp. as any @ the age of 21. his next fight will be a big step up most likely. im just trying to think of a fighter who accumulated a similar record like 40-0 or 50-0 and won a title while being protected all of his career

Anyone remember some prospect that has been protected until theyre almost 50-0 like these clowns? I guess prospects were always protected but they had to fight a world champion to earn their belts, this guys got their belts by fighting interim titlist and am undersized scrub for a vacated title, i mean by today standards i bet panchito bojado or camachito jr would have been "world champions" Also **** the wbc Nah man...Canelo has never ducked a challenge. The dude will fight who you put in front of him and even at this young stage, he can beat 95% of who you put in front of him. Chavez jr on the other hand is a scumbag, cheating loser who ducks al kinds of competition. Chavez Jr. will likely lose to Lee but the judges will ensure that Puto jr gets the call. He will conveniently dodge the testing like he dodges competition.
