Some of you are gonna look really dumb when we find out it is weed or an asthma inhaler or something silly.
they've all got some excuse bro, a failed test is the bottom line
Damn, Im so disappointed in Lamont. I was just showing his story to one of my good friends, and we were both hyped up for the fight against Khan.
I know man, I'm originally from Virginia and I had been following him and AP for the longest... never suspected this at all. Don't know if this has happened in past fights and don't even know about AP either.
I guess the comms that don't allow same day weigh in decided they can't trust fighters/advisers/trainers to make the move up in weight if their man can't make the same day weigh in without affecting their health.
That makes sense... the sad part is that there are fighters out there that would still cut weight on same day weigh-ins for the sake of trying to pick on a smaller guy... better hope it's not a legit boxer.
Cintron weighed in at 153, and was 169 on fight night for Angulo
Corrales went from 130 to 146 for Mayweather (136)
Mosley went from 147 to 164 for Pac
Miranda went from 167 to 185 for Bute
Pavlik went from 159 to 178 for Martinez (167)
Williams went from 145.5 to 162 for Margarito
Montiel went from 118 to 134 for Donaire
See, I can't stand that. Notice how most guys on that list were just heavy handed punchers at those particular weight classes... soon as the moved up, they got schooled on how to box... or got sparked by other big guys killing themselves to make the weight they moved up to.
Yeah, I notice that when a fighter fluctuates in weight, it takes a toll in the long run. I'm telling you man, same day weigh-ins would make the sport slightly more honest in light of weight classes.
Possibly. I really don't know or have a solid opinion on it either way, but i am in favour of 12 rds over 15.
Thing is it may advantage them a few times, but eventually it's going to disadvantage them.

When Glen Johnson fought Cloud, he weighed in at 173, and rehydrated to 192

Why would they abolish same day weigh-ins for health reasons? I would think that if somebody were to have a fight on the same day as the weigh-in, they'd make the weight comfortably so they could perform, otherwise they'd get the brakes beat off of them.
So fighters who cut alot of weight wouldn't go into fights dehydrated. Dehydration increases risk. It's basically the same reason they got rid of the last 3 rounds. After 36 minutes is when fighters would be dangerously fatigued and dehydrated, where taking punishment on top of your brain, muscles and other organs virtually "cooking" increased the risk of serious injuries or death.

That's crazy... these guys rehydrating 17, 18, 19 pounds overnight is pathetic. Fight in the correct weight class. These guys....

Same day weigh-ins were abolished for the health of fighters, as were 15 rounders.

Pac was rehydrating 16 pounds as a sfw.

Some commissions still use same day weigh-in.
Really? Wasn't aware of that. I know for a fact 15 rounders were basically abolished after Mancini fought that Korean fighter who just refused to give up under a torrent of punishment. Those last three rounds were always when dehydration and deliriousness set in.
Which is why boxing should turn to same day weigh-ins. Tired of seeing guys like Donaire and Rios fight naturally smaller fighters. It would make technical skills and natural ability more prevalent in the sport.

What a f.ucking let down! WTH is wrong with these fools?! From sh.it to sugar, now back to sh.it. You earned it & lost a fan for the time being. Work on your game with a trainer/coach & if your confident he ain't gettin the job done then fire his asss & hire a new one. :wtf:
