Disregarding other fights that 'could' be made,
I'd love to see a rematch for the sheer enjoyment of watching another war with the two of them...
I feel Cotto would have learnt a lot from this fight, he wasn't dominated in the first and it would still do good money.
Why not? :boxing:
Sounds good to me, as long as I can find a quality stream again. The fight was entertaining and I'm sure Cotto would do some things differently to make the fight a little closer.
cotto is coming off a loss to floyd, he's shot, he has to beat some bums first and regain his prime glory, then it'd be an even better cotto the second time around
I'd be down, but not right now.
I'd like Cotto to fight a decent fighter at Barclays opener. Someone like Molina or Rodriguez. (although that seems sacrilegious to MSG; well he did fight at Yankee opener). Pick up a good win and then go for a big fight early in 2013, like against Pacquiao, Canelo or even Lara. Win there, then Mayweather rematch looks more titillating
First Match I had it 9-3 Mayweather
Rematch if Mayweather Boxes is would be 11-1 Mayweather
So I don't really see the need for a rematch, but I certainly wouldn't be against it and I would watch a rematch
Absolutely not. On fight night, I gave Cotto 4 rounds. I watched the fight 2 more times and I only gave Cotto round 8, and just barely. Cotto didn't land **** except for the jab, just because he threw flurries and missed a ****load of punches doesn't mean he did good.
A rematch would be nice, but Floyd still wins. I gave Cotto 5 rounds. I think the result will be the same Floyd by 12rd dec. Floyd is just to a great all around fighter.
Thats what all the haters said of a cotto/marg rematch...
Once Margs got caught, the rematch was viable. I don't think floyd is going to get accused of cheating.
Mayweather's gonna beat him even worse.
He'll have timed cotto better, made the necessary adjustments and cotto probably wont fight and train as hard as the first fight now that he knows mayweather is better than him.you mean like what happened with Margarito? lol.
Who would find this necessary though? I don't think I'd buy it again tbh
But had Cotto went down to another uncomfortable weight and fought Manny at 147 you would have bought it.
Cotto fought great and better than most people expected but floyd still won clear and cotto's strong effort isn't enough to warrant a rematch.
rematches imo should only happen if it was super close, highly disputed decision or some other controversy occurred.
Agreed, competitive doesn't mean close and this fight wasn't close if one fighter won 8 rounds on most cards.
Cotto put in a great effort but we won't see anything change in a rematch.
If it was up to most in this thread, this fight wouldnt have even been made in the first place.
Id like to see a rematch, but sometime down the road. Id like to see cotto against pac or martinez, possibly canelo, first and foremost.
