What was your scorecard for Mayweather vs Cotto?

I was surprised by the judges scorecards, shouldn't be that surprised considering recent results. Mayweather said before hand it all about bussiness and aluded to that the judges would not stop a mega money making fight like Pacquiao vs Floyd happening. Now if Cotto would have come strong in the latter rounds he would have taking the victory on my card but would have still have gotten the W with those judges. I had the fight 116-112 for Mayweather, I wouldn't argue against 115-113 either. Here are some scorecards from some boxing writers. Kevin Iole, Yahoo! I scored it 115-113 Cotto in a close and competitive fight. To me, Cotto won rounds 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 (I gave Floyd rounds 1, 4, 10, 11, and 12) based on his effective jabbing, body punching, and his inside work; all of which were apparently ignored by the HBO crew (the same one that glorified every Cotto jab during the Pacquaio fight) and most "mainstream" fans these days. Cotto definitely won more 2 or 3 rounds unlike the judges and Harold "I scored Pacquiao-Marquez 3 for Pacquiao and Alexander-Kotelnik for Alexander" Lederman indicated. Of course, I could also see Floyd winning 115-113/116-112 or so if I were to have given him a few of the close rounds and I could also see it as a draw. This wasn't a robbery though, just a close and competitive fight. And just before the overly defensive Floyd fans begin to pull up irrational accusations since I had Cotto ahead, both USA Today and the LA Times had the same score as me so it's not as far-fetched as you'd want to believe.

117-111 couldn't give Cotto more than 3 rounds, the 9th could have gone to Cotto but that's being generous.

Initially I had it.8-4 Floyd with Cotto winning the 2nd and 6th thru 8th. But upon several rewatches I have become less inclined to give him the 2nd and 7th. While there were many contested rounds, there was a somewhat decisive winner for most rounds imo. A good fight but Mayweather at 35 is still a cut above the younger Miguel Cotto. Floyd never had to face Margarito or Pacquiao, no wonder they would have been bad for his health.

Yeah Floyd's Compubox edge over Cotto in connects, were only 5%, guess that edge drops when you picked all the best cherries from that tree. and who had the higher workrate between the two in every round? so whats your updated score card? 120-108? or do you only use compubox when its convenient

Cotto fans or Floyd haters. Just cause you are doing a job doesn't mean you can't be bias. The people that know how to judge a fight would know who won the fight. I won't comment on this topic again because nothing can change now so the debate really doesn't matter. No, boxing writers, impartial and have giving Floyd fair scorecards in the past.

I had it 10 rounds to 2 at the time and really considered giving Cotto an extra one but I thought Floyd edged it, so I could stretch to 9-3, I don't think it should have been more than that personally though, thought the judges were spot on... I think a lot of people are holding Floyd at a higher standard and acting like Cotto deserved rounds just because he did better than most do in some rounds, that's just me. When re watching I scored it the same, 10-2 or 9-3... Floyd clearly won the first 5 rounds, I think I gave Cotto 6 and 8.

Ummmm yes it it, i score 1 round even, 10-10 What I meant was that I didn't see an even round that night. Which round did you see even? I can only see the 9th being even but that would be way too generous on Cotto's behalf.

It wouldn't have been controversial, it would have been a close win for Floyd if Cotto was able to when the last 3 rounds. The scores would have read 116-114 twice and 117-113 all for Floyd no controversy. The only people claiming robbery would be Cotto fans and Floyd haters. Many ringside observers would have had it a draw and a few would have Cotto winning.

yes but he only clearly won 2 rounds what ever other rounds you gave him could of gone either way. why are the official scorecards so crazy to you yet you admit that cotto only clearly won 2 rounds?
