That's kind of my point though, I gave Oscar more rounds but Cotto seem to hit Floyd more flush and the blood I think added to the perception of what was really going on.
I have to say Oscar because he won more rounds, therefore was more competitive.
Don't know how that means he was more competitive. Oscar won a few rounds early on activity and got completely whitewashed over the second half of the fight.
Cotto, you can easily make a case won the same amount of rounds(4), and the fight as a whole was clearly more competitive throughout.

Cotto IMO & I really think Pedro Diaz had a lot to do with it. Although he loss, you can tell the dude put in some serious training time, worked on a game plan & stuck to it like glue. Floyd is no easy task for anyone or any trainer/coach. I believe he's gonna end up some time in the near future with a nice stable of champs. Seems like he knows his ish. It was a great fight on both guys part.:boxing:
Good to know i'm not going crazy lol, and ya definitely floyd put a stamp on the 11th and 12th with a few of those flush shots that cotto really felt.
it was a great fight though, i give a lot of respect to mayweather for battling the way he did. cotto was motivated and determined as hell, that cotto would give pac a better fight than their first...but i still think pac's speed and angles would end up being too much
That's how I felt coming on here & seeing folks saying Floyd dominated him. I was wondering if they replayed Floyd-Gatti & these mofoes thought that it was Cotto or something LOL!!
I absolutely agree with you. The fight was close as fvck until Floyd pulled away in the championship rounds. 115-113 Floyd.

I thought mayweather won 4 rounds clear and cotto won 4 rounds clear, the other 4 were tossups - of course any round remotely close the judges gave to mayweather because he is the star making the most money.
The other 4 would depend on what you favor. Cotto was pressuring Mayweather and doing pretty good body work in those rounds and pushing Mayweather onto ropes. Mayweather landed his share of counters but they were not big punches, mostly used to keep cotto off him.
I dunno I guess I am in the minority that thought this fight was a lot closer. I think 115-113 for Mayweather would be a good score, and if say the roles were reversed and cotto was the big money ppv star and undefeated guy those close rounds could easily be given to Cotto and him get the decision.
Those scores did not reflect the fight me and my boys were watching. A few of my casual friends who only really watch with me when Floyd fights thought Cotto did better work and deserved then win (prolly biased because when casuals see blood they assume that guy won) but still

I do like cookies but have been trying to cut back on my sugar intake~
Anyhow, Oscar might have won more rounds but I think a lot of that had to do with Floyd not really doing much or being forced to do much. Cotto on the other hand actually fought Floyd and forced him to work.
Cotto for sure~
Who did better in your opinion?

Both lost clearly but Cotto definitely had more moments in his fight with Mayweather than Oscar did and landed a lot more clean and effective punches than Oscar.
So Cotto.
Cotto landed real body shots. Oscar was playing pattycake with Floyd's hip pad.
So, Cotto.
Cotto, for sure.Oscar had one good moment in that fight. And won about three rounds. Cotto won about three as well but made each round much more competitive and landed more clean shots.
Going by rounds, De La Hoya did better because I gave him 4, while I only gave Cotto 3. But you lose a lot looking at a fight in a "rounds only" basis, and this is a great example of why that is, because Cotto definitely put his mark on Mayweather more than Oscar did.
oscar did hurt floyd, but i think cotto hurt him more in the sixth
plus i think i gave them same amount of rounds, although with cotto-floyd there were alot of close rounds that i could have easily given to cotto, but i think the max is 5 rounds for cotto
Cotto was more competitive throughout. You can make the case of Oscar winning more rounds(maybe one more, if that) but there were more onesided rounds in Floyd-Oscar.
