i only watched the fight once but i had cotto winning 4 rounds. so my score card would of been 116-112. i know there were a couple of rounds that were close like the 1st round and one of the middle rounds . i think it was the 8th or 9th.. got to re-watch it. but i think May won but not by 118-110.
i was at the fight and MANY people there thought cotto won. i didn't but many did. it appeared to be a very close fight live. maybe it was different on tv. but i can understand cotto feeling the way he does.
I can see not agreeing to the judges score cards, but he clearly lost the fight. I scored it 116-112 Floyd. But I think the scorecards make the fight more one sided than it really was. A couple friends called the next day sayin "Damn Floyd beat him easy" without seeing the fight. I play them the fight and it became "Damn, ok..."
But overall, Cotto should've raised his head and taken the "L" and he without question got the respect from the Boxing world even in a loss. It's not a good look for him considering he's usually a classy dude.
i think he was emotional and it was that the judges dint score the fight right it should of been a close fight cause i seen the fight 3 times now and it relay was a close fight. i think this fight if there's no pacquiao fight then do the rematch cotto vs mayweather 2 it was a relay competitive fight and exiting fight they should do the rematch cause this fight even though floyd won by decision still has many question about the outcome of the fight and what toke place in the fight!!!
My guess is that he didn't want to get emotional in front of a stadium full of people and on live television, coupled with the fact that he sincerely trained and fought to win the fight. The decision was correct, but the scores were erroneous and should have been much closer, especially considering he was the champion and it was his belt on the line, not Floyd's.
It's obvious that Floyd probably respects Cotto more than any other fighter, because they're the two greatest of the era and their rivalry is very intense, though they've never spoken about it prior to this fight. This is the reason Floyd might be considering retiring and it's the reason Cotto is so disappointed.
I don't understand this.
Cotto is usually a classy guy after a loss.
What's eating at him?
Not really seeing anything unclassy. Dissapointment after a close loss with the best in the world. Might just be me, but post fight interveiws don't really do much for me. If you give one great. If not oh well.
I have to agree. People are paying $70 to watch u fight, so give an damn interview
After getting his ass beat by pac, he looked like a happy little kid giving the interview with laughing and shiiit
but i thought you said they were paying to watch him fight?
dont get me wrong, i do understand where you guys are coming from.. but to me its no big deal, whether its a fighter i like or not. its not like larry merchant asks questions i really care about anyway...
Nah, he didn't go to the hospital they just said that to excuse his absence from the post fight presser.
I'm not happy with him for that though, he's a star getting paid millions, that's part of your job(talking to the press).

again... he did not go to the hospital... he stayed in the hotel with his family & does not want to talk to the press as a protest to the wide margin of points from the vegas judges.

No post interview, no follow up. ANy word, anything I may be missing.
He just arrived in PR, said no comment & will probably talk to the press this week... his assistant said that he is not happy with the judges wide margin of points at the end of the fight.
