So after Mayweather vs Cotto at 154lbs cotto's weight and seeing how Mayweather dominated most of the fight from a pure boxing viewpoint (If you believe the fight was close please don't comment because you know nothing about boxing)
How does Pacquiao do against Floyd at 147?
I can't see Pacquiao doing well at all, I think Cotto's style will always make for an exciting match against Mayweather, but I don't think pacquiao has any size to put on Floyd and considering he was missing 7 punch combos against Marquez - How does he do against Floyd?
I have it 116-112 - Mayweather.
Well first of all everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Now, that being said, I can't see Pacquiao beating Floyd for a couple reasons:
1. Pacquiao doesn't have a good enough jab to keep Floyd out of his rhythm like Cotto was able to at times.
2. He isn't the type to cut off the ring he likes to pop in with quick combinations then pop back out. The thing with that is that Floyd will pick up on his body movement and catch him coming in. Although I'm sure Pacquiao will have some success with that to a degree purely because of his hand speed.
3. Pacquiao is too short. Mayweather always does well against shorter fighters, he'll keep him on the outside with his jab and potshot him. When Pacquiao tries to jump in with his combos he'll get countered like I said before. Also he's not physically strong enough to bully Floyd around the ring and make it his fight. I think Floyd would be dictating the pace.
Would be a tough fight for both though and would love to see it.

Didnt see the master thread then....and you talk about clueless people!:lol1:
Judah always fades... Very talented fighter but it is well known that fading is his thing.
Yup, one of the most under-rated fighters, but if you watch the fight, around the 4th round he is still trying to do the things that were working in the first 3 and it's not working Floyd isn't there, and hes getting jab'd and hard rights to the body and Floyd is just generally roughing him up, after around 3 rounds of trying it around the 7th he begins to fade from punching mostly air and all the body shots and Floyd then starts going to the head.
The problem is, Judah didn't fade Floyd figured him out and broke him down, it's so subtle it just looks like Judah is tiring he was getting hit with hard hard body shots.
Also Judah was faster and had alot better counter-punching skills and general boxing skills than pacquiao.

Yeah that is the one punch that Pacquiao could really use to his advantage.
I'm serious when i say this, if Pacquaio had the same physical tools but everything was mirrored and he was orthodox fighter, i wouldn't give him a chance against Floyd
Put being a southpaw with a tremendous left hand i can see him landing on Floyd like no-one else has been able to, and if there's one fighter who can match Floyd for stamina its Pacquiao - he's not going to fade like Judah did

Judah is a good example of why a southpaw like Manny could be a concern
And straight lefts.

Well I think the reason some of the rounds were closer than they should have been was Cotto's strength. In the clinches, Cotto was wrestling Floyd to the ropes and this gave him the chance to pop off some combos. There is no way Pacman can outmuscle Floyd Like MC did. I think the Pac - May fight would be May using the Jab and Straight right all night for an easy UD. He has too many advantages, size, strength, reach etc...
Excatly my point, Pacquiao can not out-muscle Floyd, so would therefore have to try and box him, and anyone that knows about boxing knows the skillset of the 2 aren't comparable.
Mayweather and Marquez do not fight alike much at all. The only simularity is that they like to counter punch, but their counter punching styles are much different.
No they dont, but against pac it would be a similar approach. Marquez killed manny with lead rights, a product of southpaw vs orthodox. Mayweather would kill manny with lead rights. Throw in uppercuts aswell, something that is also mannys kryponite. Its just not a good stylisitic matchup for manny whatseover. Of course manny has a punchers chance, but against a defensive wizard like mayweather, maybe not even.
Stylistic problems added on top of mayweather being bigger, stronger, faster, and a defensive wizard.

So many opponents thought that way.
"I can't see Pacquiao doing well at all, I think Cotto's style will always make for an exciting match against Mayweather"
you mean offensive and aggressive? pacquiao could easily do that. Cotto was just landing on the inside against floyd, he was nailing him with lefts when he was outside floyd as well.
and btw, cotto was not bigger, they were the same height and floyd had a longer reach
Nope, I mean the big wide punches switching from body to head and then quick uppercuts, as well as a very stiff hard jab
Pacquiao looks great against flat footed fighters, hes learned how to use his right hand over the years, and looks great in training, once he gets hit, he always goes back to his bread and butter straight on style
No disrespect to Pacquiao, he's an awesome warrior, but Mayweather truly knows how to break fighters down, and I think pacquiao would start to become clueless after around the 8th when he was hitting shoulders and getting countered easily, he'd win most of his rounds due to activity not clean shots.
From a boxing standpoint, the boxing skills aren't even comparable, and last nights mayweather shows you he is ready to stand and go toe to toe, he's not just a fancy dan.

Floyd would win but would need to box his heart out. If the Floyd from last night turned up for Pac he would get eaten with right hand hooks.
And straight lefts. Manny left straight just as fast as cottos jab and less telegraphed.
Lets put it this way...Pac would be facing a bigger, stronger, faster, better defensively, smarter, the list goes on, marquez.
Floyds lead rights would eat up pacquiao all night imo. Styles make fights, and pac has proven he does not fight well against counter punching boxers. Now throw in the best counter punching boxer who throws hard shots back, hard to touch him, etc, and what do you get?

Mayweather gives Pacquiao a boxing lesson. PERIOD. Like I have always said, Cotto was a harder fight for Mayweather than the steroidking, and we can't ever go by the "if He beat A, He can beat B" Styles make fights and Manny is too one dimensional and lack improvisation to beat Mayweather. We can save last nights score card and just change the name.
If only floyd had your retarded way of thinking wed have a fight. Your very brave for floyd too bad your not floyd.. Floyd don't think he would outbox manny that easily otherwise he wouldnt be such a possy,

You think Floyd is starting to show his age? I thought he was as sharp as ever last night, I think he got hit because as he said, he wanted to give everyone a show he had plenty of chances to get of the ropes and he just stood toe to toe it was evident in the 12th when he just danced round cotto with his hands down the whole round he could of done that all night long.
Pacquiao looked terrible against Mosley and Marquez - heh, maybe he came off his PED's in preparation for the Mayweather fight :L
I think the higher weight benefitted Cotto well in this fight, although he did lose by a wide margin. Pacquaio won't have that type of advantage.
look at the post beneath you for an example of a non clueless post.
