Manny Pacquiao = 50 million for 2 fights
Floyd made 40 against Victor Ortiz and he's making another 40 against Miguel
That looks like 80 million vs 50 million for the same number of fights.
You want to try that again?
This.
Plus ESPN doesn't incorporate the amount Arum takes. Although Pac may earn 50mil he probably only gets paid 10-15mil.
don't even know where a boring defensive boxer, who gets zero endorsements, gets the nerve to offer anything to the most popular and electrifying boxer in the ring today. makes me cringe just hearing about it. hehe...
Because floyd is a promoter. Manny, stupidly, is still an employee of TR. Bob can make offers. Floyd can make offers. Not manny.
The only problem here is that PAC fought twice last year and more than DOUBLED the revenue and gross profit that floyd brought in.
50/50 is way too generous if your on Pac's side. The fight should be 65-25 Pac with an additional 10% to the winner.
You could make the argument that floyd is lucky to get anything at all. You don't tell the highest paid athlete in the world how the purse should be split up. He tells you that and you listen and take it or walk. Either way hes still gonna be the highest paid athlete in the world until he decides to retire and run for president of a country.

If Pac really makes $25m a fight, then Floyd offering him $40m is a 60% raise.
What if Floyd asked for a 60% raise on his salary too...that's $64m.
Sounds fair to me.
Of course, this is considering Floyd fronted the cost for the promotion like he does now. If Top Rank promotes the fight, Floyd should shave off the 10m it normally cost him to set up a fight and send it Pac's way. $54m with no overhead cost for Mayweather. Pac banks $50m b4 Arum takes his piece.
lol, found it funny that BS posts this article up shortly after I read through this thread...

First sentence "FLOYD ‘Money’ Mayweather is regarded as the world’s richest boxer."
And recently...
Floyd has said to sports writers...
That he has admitted he is a "rich coward!" - At least I'm a damn rich coward!
It's like saying I am gay and I'm proud lol
lol he has no shame of admitting it's all about the Benjamins.. This conman still seems to fool a lot of people. Clear as day he rather be a rich coward than face a legit threat.. Geez.. And he is suppose to be a warrior?? It's a disgrace to the boxers of the past and the present to call yourself a coward and be proud of it..
Next time it would be gay fighters taking over the sport hehe!
You stupid ****.
Heres the quote "Go ahead, call me a coward. But if so I’m a rich coward. And you all know I ain’t scared."
How clever of you to leave the last part off... Moron.

Pac should be getting at least 72-25 against you know who
Floyd made $40m in one fight, Pacquiao got $50m for 2 fights so Pacquiao deserves less because he gets half of what Mayweather makes for every fight
Fight should be 50-50 anyways, people want to see these two particular fighters in the ring.. Floyd asking for more is just simply pricing himself out..
NO IFS, ANDS, or BUTs..
NO IFS AND or BUTs Manny was offered 50/50 and a test and RAN AWAY !

They're purses should have little effect in the split of the fight revenue in a fight between them. Pacquiao's promoter takes full responsibility for the promotion and it's costs and so in turn takes a share of the revenue, Mayweather uses his promotional company for the promotion and it's costs and rents GBP for probably a lesser fee, so much of the promotional revenue goes to his purse minus the costs. At the end of the day it's the money Top Rank can generate from Manny's fights vs the money Mayweather/Golden Boy promotions generate from their fights.
their last fight-
Pacquiao-Marquez
PPVx1.41($55)=$77.5M..probably a bit more taking into account HD buys
Gate (crowd 16,368)=$11.6M
total=$89.1M, plus the HD buys
Mayweather-Ortiz
PPVx1.25($60+HD buys)=$78.4M
Gate (crowd 14,687)=$9M
total=$87.4M
Sponsorship money and all that, both guys will bring the sponors to this fight no doubt, Manny arguably more so being a bigger worldwide figure.
This fight is 50-50, revenue should be split down the middle and they should each have equal responsibility and share in the costs of the promotion. However each side splits their share is irrelevant. The deal Mayweather is asking for is ludicrous, he is looking to ride off Pacquiao's name to a probable $100M payday while offering Pac only $40M. How anyone defends it is beyond me, his fanboys are devoted that's for sure.

Pacquiao also injects a lot of money into the Vegas economy when he fights due to all the high rolling Asian gamblers who fly in and drop large cash at the tables.
