So this is the claim an unnamed Floyd fan just said to me.
He said outside of Ward at 168 and Sergio at 160, Floyd is favored to beat anyone at 147-168
So I said "So you think Floyd is favored against Direll and Bute at 168?" And he basically said yes he is.
Whats your take Boxingscene?
EDIT: Heres the thread where this all originated from

My god, this guy needs to loss a fight pronto, because when he retires, his army of cheerleaders is gonna hype so much that will be remember as top 5 atg on all weightclasees(in the universe and dimensions) and forget all the bs of his carefully matchmakin and the "you need 6 months to prepare a fight" bs
dear lord.
The guy clearly has no clue about the sport. LMAO there are weight classes for a reason. Floyd's optimum weight is at 147. And if you actually have boxed for real you would know that size still does matter especially if the big guy knows how to fight.
I have.. I'm 170 and my coach used to throw me in there with heavyweights sparring. Its not EASY but size advantage can be negated to the point its not a complete beat down. And that's just me. Floyd spars all sizes too.. Its reasonable to think Floyd with all his skill could even the odds a bit and defy the weight gap..
But Bute is a body snatcher
And Dirrel is fast
I think logically Floyd could negate the weight advantage in most opponents, but favored againts those two? I feel he would be so focused on defense his offensive output would lower to nearly zero. So no I wouldn't favor him.
That's a horrific example, stop bringing up Jones and Ruiz.
They would be favored because they have size, speed, power, and skill. Not just size. Floyd is also not big enough to make the jump without losing a lot. Not some, a lot. The only people who would even think Floyd has a chance, let alone would bet on him to win, are the crazy nuthuggers or insane gamblers.
Guess which one is Big Dunn.

I went back to the other thread and I said dirrell would be even money. Hoepfully, you read it and see I simply am talking about bring the betting favorite goiing in.
I must not hold bute in the same regard as you do because what he brings I don't think would make him the favorite. Dirrell seems to inexperienced to me. He does bring those things you posted, but are IMO not enough to make him the betting favorite.
Nuthuggers and insane gamblers. No more hyperbole.
I don't know whether to take these threads seriously or not. I took the one about Floyd vs. Valuev seriously and they voted in the poll that Floyd would win because he already beat up Big Show. If you are serious I think boxing scene will pick Floyd to win. Hell, they would pick Floyd to beat King Kong or Superman. I think pro odds makers, bookies, are going to favor the 168 lb fighters. I would give him a small chance to beat Direll and almost no chance to beat Bute. I can't wait to read who boxing scene picks.
The responses to your thread have provided no reasoning other than size, and the usual name calling and other BS. What it comes down to is if you believe floyds skills are superior to the size advantages and you would thus pick floyd. I guess name recognition would be a factor also.
I think that will be the logic going in, I think that was somewhat the logic in rjj/ruiz.

I would like to meet the people betting in favor of Floyd for these fights..... behind bullet proof glass of course.

If boxingscene is any indication, then the bettting odds are 99:1 right now.
Fine with me. At least you posted the whole thread where I corrected your interpretation immediately in post #111.
I believe he would be favored going in. No one has posted anything to change my opinion.
You are discussing who wins the fight. I only said floyd would be the favorite going in.

i feel like an idiot for debating with Big Dunn for a year now, to find out ive been wasting my time with a crazy man.
Say whatever you gotta say dude. Doesn't phase me. I believe floyd would be the favorite over Bute and dirrell going into the fight because he's better than Bute and dirrell isn't as experienced.
You just said in a post that Floyd would neutralize the size advantage with his skills. No he wouldn't. You are clearly entertaining the idea that Floyd could beat Bute and Dirrell, and that's an incredible amount of nuthugging.
Floyd would not be favored against Bute or Dirrell, two very big, very fast, very hard hitting fighters with plenty of skills. You brought up Roy vs. Ruiz, which is a terrible example.
Read post #46. I referenced ruiz/rjj for the betting line only.
