Many people feel that Floyd is a boring fighter. I understand, and that is their right to feel that way.
But when Floyd DOES choose to throw combinations, he is an absolutely marvelous fighter to watch, and he makes you remember why he entered the sport with such fanfare.
I wish we got to see more of that. I anticipate that we will see much more of that style vs Miguel Cotto.
Round 4 of the Ortiz fight. See the first 30 seconds.
Round 8 of the Hatton fight. See @5:20.
I don't care what anyone says, had Floyd put his foot on the gas more late in the Mosley fight, he could have forced a ref or corner stoppage potentially. Mosley was done, not sure why Floyd didn't go for the stoppage, he was in total control.
If Cotto really starts to fade after being beaten all night by Floyd, I can imagine Floyd forcing a corner stoppage ore ref stoppage possibly. Still, the safe bet is Floyd by UD.
Shane didn't anger Floyd as much as Corrales did. Plus they still play b-ball together.
Zabs problem is mental strength and resolve , his boxing skills is excellent .
And defense. Zab doesn't have the chin to allow him to have shaky defense.
That punch Shane landed on Floyd ends Judah.
Believe it or not judah throws some of the sickest combos out there. If only he was more consistent in thowing them he would be a monster.

When Floyds lands those devastating combos on Cotto he gonna drop. Cotto got no chance in winning and will end going to one knee the same way when the beast Margarito broke him.
All this talk of Cotto gonna make it a good fight is baloney, its gonna be one sided, I know it, you know it and everyonr else knows it.
Just like I imagine you thought Zab was gonna do the same against Cotto.lmao
For those that know what they're looking at, it looks like art the way he does opponents. I don't think people realize how hard doing that is. Then again, I don't see anyone ever doing Mayweather's style.
ive always said this floyd paints a portrait in the ring.he fights like water, has no rhythm and adapts in a split second.people always laugh and say what they say but he is the best fighter i have ever seen in my life and i stand beside that
these latino guys undervalue clinching
That is more of a Mexican style than a Puerto Rican style.
Benitez clinched strategically. So did Macho.
The thing that bothers me about Cotto is that he doesn't trust in his conditioning. You can almost see when that switch goes off in his head that his fuel gauge just hit 'E'.
In the 11th round vs Mosley, he started backpedalling and backing to the ropes.
The same can be said of Cotto
You are absolutely right.
And I posted after Cotto-Marg 1 that Miguel's inability to clinch and chew up the clock cost him the fight.
Mayweather's body punching is very underrated.
That jab to the body offsets his opponents most of the time.
Then out of nowhere a straight right is tattooing your chin.
Then out of nowhere a left hook and/or right hook to the body unfolds.
Lately he's been throwing straight rights to the body.
They're sneaky bodyshots.

I see all these fans saying how Floyd is feather-fisted. OK, fine. But if that's the case, my question is this:
Then how come guys don't simply try to walk through him? Why do guys with good chins stop throwing once they start getting countered?
Exactly. You should go Mexican style and just go in. They're not stupid. I don't think the opponents really talk about his power in interviews. But those combos aren't a joke.
exactly, Mosley did an even better job than Cotto at manhandling margarito and has always had a very impressive physique. Floyd ended up handling Mosley the night they fought
Mosley is different because Shane is not a trench fighter. Shane likes to slug, and I never really saw him wrestle or tie up until Marg.
Marg hates to do that. He would rather be throwing 80-100 punches/rd
To be honest with you, I haven't seen Cotto do anything to suggest he's stronger than Floyd. People confuse physical strength with power.
He physically pushed Margarito around the ring.
And he LOOKS thicker and more solid around the shoulders than most ww/jmw's.

lol your a idiot and floyd wont put pressure or throw as many punches as mrgarito did
I don't think anyone expects Floyd to THROW as many as Margarito...but he may LAND as many as Margarito.
Is that a fair statement?
Margarito vs Cotto 1:
Mar threw 987 total punches, landed 267.
Mayweather vs Marquez:
Floyd threw 493 punches, landed 290.
It is not unreasonable that Floyd could land 250-ish on Miguel.

Because those punches hurt. Everyone that has fought Floyd has stated that he has underrated power. Nowadays, he's sitting on punches more. Commentators say this all the time during his fights. Miguel will see that Floyd isn't there to play grabass like his friend. Floyd will put pause to where Cotto is trying to do in the ring.
What if - IF - Miguel Cotto finds that he is not physically stronger than Floyd?
I highly suspect you will see that on Saturday.
I think Mayweather's power is severely underrated. When he throws those combos, most of the time that fighter gets hurt. And he rarely does it!!
