In 2001, a 36 year old Hopkins was "too old" to beat Trinidad. He proved everyone wrong.
He went on to become the only boxer to fight for, win and defend all 4 Boxing titles and Ring Magazine title.
He beat the younger lions in De La Hoya, Tarver, Pavlik, and Pascal.
But alas, it had to come to an end one day.
End of an Era...
i hope the dirty punk is leaving for good
take a break man...you've been putting in too much OT...go watch 24/7 or something...cool off with a nice glass of this!!

hopkins can still win more fights, it would be cool if he retired winning, its gona be a very long while when we see another boxer pull as many upsets n specially at hopkins age i dont think it can happen again
If this is in fact the end definitely. B- hop is a hall of famer and one of the best to ever do it regardless of what bitter Trinidad and Calzaghe fans have to say.
But I don't think he's done. He didn't take a lot of punishment and still got in sime good shots. This loss to me was the inevitable. A fight with Dawson was pushed aside for so long. But i always knew Dawson's size, reach, athleticism and skills would give Hopkins problems.
We' ll see what the future holds soon enough. Can't wait to hear what hop says about the fight
I agree. Hopkins is a living legend and he deserves respect. One of the best ever.
boxing fans know this, but boxing trolls cant seem to grasp that fact...
fu*k you too lol
dayum you totally got me back up into a corner with that comeback. WHEWWWW!!!!
stop pretending to be a boxing fan and talkin about fighters you probly never heard of til last week.
first off, fu.ck you. and i mean that sincerely

I actually don't think anything changed whatsoever. He looked more or less the same, there are champion fighters he would still be competitive with, but Dawson is not one of them.
Everything has to come to an end, and 2012 is the year for the great Bernard Hopkins to go. But he has done too much for this sport, a true guru in the game, and let me tell you something, Dawson didnt beat Hopkins, Age beat Hopkins. 3 years ago Hopkins would beat Dawson and send him to the grave.

I wouldnt say that yet. Just because Hopkins lost to Dawson doesnt mean he's done. ****, I would love to see him vs Bute
