I remember a few months back arguing with some dudes on here telling me how this cat was gonna clean out 175. I responded such bravado was a joke as he hadn't even fought anyone with a pulse yet. His best win is Despaigne who can't couldn't even beat a stiff like Cornelius White.
Sillahk shouldn't go anywhere near a top 5 guy at 168 until he learns how to fight inside or hold or defend. His defense sucks. If he's not fighting at range he's got nothing.
Honestly, I was wondering where all the power is at. I, also, kept screaming for him to throw the uppercut. There just was no work off the jab and, ironically, that earlier knock down was off two short jabs that both missed.
There are tons of fighters who had a first loss that turned to two and two losses that turned to three. So things still can't be called for certain but it helps that he's in such a weak division. From the american viewpoint, you have Dawson, Pascal and Cloud after tomorrow night and Pascal and Cloud are going to knock one or the other off for a while.
I'm actually surprised that no one said anything about trouble making weight. He had just about all the symptoms, including decreased recovery. Everything about his frame seemed shaky even after the fight ended and he hadn't taken much damage in the fight.
Trouble making weight? Sillakh walks around at 175, 365 days of the year. You dont know what your talking about.
Remember the Korobov stoppage was RSCO (ref stops contest outclassed) which is due to a point differential. In 2005 it was 15 point differential and they stop it, now it's 20. So it was only 2x, once being as a 14yr old FW.
He turned pro because he got busted taking steroids and wasn't going to be able to compete at the 2008 Olympics. Maybe some HGH and growing a giant head will help his fragile skull?
see that didn't know
i thought i saw an RSC (ref stoppage.)
and on the bold:
worth a try if you're getting stopped by the pirate
ye. it was you,
i remember your avatar pictures.
he was stopped three times in the amateurs from what i saw. i have not seen his complete amateur record.
if atlas was talking about him like a stiff wind would knock him out of these tournaments then he'd be wrong. he won many of them.
but, as i suspected, his chin is not spectacular.

he got owned by a bum lol......
IKF Muay Thai Light Cruiserweight World Champion
2X World Kickboxing Champion (2000, 2005)
4X Russian Kickboxing Champion
12-0 pro boxing record derailing 3 undefeated fighters, 2 being highly regarded prospects.
He sure isn't no bum. He also had a short but successful MMA career. The guy is nails as proven by scraping himself off the canvas after being hit with a peach of a shot getting outboxed to hell for 8 rounds & pulling off a stunning upset.
It happens!
Think you may be talking about me? I brought up Atlas's comment about him being stopped many times in the Amateurs and said that was false, which it was as we established in our discussion. Once as a 14 year old at Featherweight and once in 2006 in Baku by Beterbiev.
Perhaps Syllakh could start roiding again in hopes of improving his chin?

Boxing fans like the dude who started this thread is what ruins the sport, great fighters have lost it doesn't define a fighter, yes he needs to know how to grab and finish guys off but to say he wasn't beating the other dude and making him look outclassed before he got caught is crazy. He has talent and I think he will make some noise he just doesn't have much resistance.. Guys act like people need to be undefeated to be good...I bet money when Alvarez finally lose people will act like the dude got no talent too even tho he does
i cant remember who it was but some guy made me dig up examples of him being stopped in the amateurs
had a russian sounding name
i can imagine he's sulking

ppl shouldnt be so high on him. he has an obvious ceiling. having a bad chin in the higher weight classes, esp when u dont got power is pretty much a death sentence. this is one thing that has almost always been the case. the two just dont mix. and sillakah seems to have a bad chin from everything ive seen/heard.

he seemed shaky bcse he got punched in the head for a minute straight that would screw anybodies doom up
he did however look less than impressive the whole fight might have been overlooking
Im still here. I always said he has a bad chin and will probably get stopped but i didnt se it coming yesterday at all.
He will still be a force at 175

all these people taking sh*t now not a single one of you predicted he'd lose last night so stfu.
Obviously he got a bit exposed last night. We've all seen his skill set and it was clear from the go he's talented. What none of us have seen is his chin tested on the pro level and that it was last night. Additionally we've never seen how he reacts to being in a bad situation and we all saw last night he didn't react well at all.
So we all know now he has things to work on. Several things in fact. He needs put together more than one or two single shots at a time. If he did I'm sure he could have finished the guy last night. He needs to work on not dropping back in straight lines. He needs to work on clinching and he appears to have no inside game.
He also should probably go the amir khan route and hire a strength & conditioning coach. We all saw how badly Khan was KTFO in less than 60 seconds and his career looked like it was over before it really began. But he's came back from that, got better & stronger and while his chin probably still is a weak point, he clearly takes shots a lot better than he did pre-prescott. So it's not the end of the world for him but it will be a tough climb back.
i've been saying for years that the guy's got some stoppage losses on his amateur resume and that his chin could turn out to be very weak.
did i think he would lost last night?
no.
not to a pirate.
Yeah I was surprised by last night, but when I was watching I was like damn bring you hand back!! He was open all night for the right hand. Dude has sick skills still. Sit down on his punches a bit more and bring his hands back up and he's good. Why are people so damn quick to talk ****? This is boxing people loose people get caught. he makes a few modifications and he will be tops at 175 still
Pacquiao got knocked out twice, Wlad Klit got knocked out 3 times. It happens and it doesn't mean much.
this^^^^^^^^^^^^
he's young...he'll be alright!!

Exactly. Good sh1t right here.
He was exposed and now he knows what he needs to work on to make a strong come back. I thought about bringing up Khan but I expected to get a bunch of sarcastic replies so I left it alone.
For the record I was talking sh*t BEFORE last nite. I didn't get all the hype. Despaigne sucks. Let's not act like I'm being some Monday morning QB. Not the case.
I don't see the variations to his game to justify all the hype. Where's the in-fighting? Power seems average at best. Survival instincts are horrible. Wrap up. Take a knee. Something. All I see is good length and a popping jab. He will get stung again when
he fights a real fighter. How will he react? If last nite was indication he'll react not well.
