mayweather, it wasnt even close although the mosley thet fought cotto was probably a much better version and in cottos defense he beat judah much more then mayweather did
Judah touched up Cotto worse then he did Mayweather had him hurt couple of times also why was Mosley much better when he fought Cotto? just because the fight was more competitive doesn't mean Mosley was much better
How come people never get the age right when they talk about how old Mosley was??? He was 38, but everyone wants to say he was 39-40. How hard is it???Yes they do. They also make Marquez 40 when he fought Pacquiao last year even though he just turned 38. They like to spell his name Mosely after all these years.
Since watching it on HBO lately I started to think who beat Mosley more convincingly IMO it was cotto what do you guys think????

Pretty sure he was 72.... then 23 when he fought Pac
Shot Mosley my ass. If he was shot against Floyd he was shot against Cotto too. You don't think there was a REASON why Shane couldn't land anything on Floyd? What about Marquez, he can't pull the trigger too? Marquez and Shane were puzzled and frustrated. When have you seen Marquez shaking his head and look so puzzled?
Give Floyd credit.
Everyone and their brother was saying "Floyd needs tof ight Mosley or just retire", "Floyd-Mosley is the best fight to be made right now" (after May-Pac was off),"If Floyd beats Mosley, he gets credit from me"......
Funny how no one stuck to that. Shane may have been past his prime, but he was still the #1 WW after he TKO'd Margarito, was still in the Top 10 P4P after that.
PBF, but were talking about a shot mosely, vs a mosely that was still game. The Mosely that fought PBF couldnt pull the trigger..he was shot..

Mosley the new ***embe Mutombo. Lol
Stupid thread by TS.
Mosley had Cotto in big trouble but fought stupidly in the last 3-4 rounds. Cotto didn't even faze Mosley. Mosley landed 3-4 clean shots on Floyd through 12 rounds.

I thought Cotto won by a point or two . Mayweather won by at least 8 points so to me it is not even close. Floyd every one of the last 10 rounds with ease.
Mayweather but in Cotto's defense he faced a 36 year old Mosley who hadnt lost in his last 5 fights.
Mayweather on the other hand faced a 39 year old Mosley coming off a 14 month layoff.
Cotto also never got hit with the punch Floyd took in round 2.

Yeah these aren't even close. Mosley won 1 round against Floyd and he probably won 5-7 rounds against Cotto, depending on how you see it. Personally I think Floyd being able to take that monstrous shot laid on him by Shane should open the eyes of other fighters. Shane is without a doubt one of the hardest, if not the hardest, punchers around the 147-154 area. If that shot did not drop Floyd or stop him, I doubt anyone will around that weight class. Maybe Sergio being the only exception. Cotto looks good and is training his ass off I know and I respect that, he is a humble hardworking guy. No matter how I slice it though, I just cannot see him beating Floyd. Similar to what Teddy Atlas was saying, no matter how hard Cotto trains, he is still slower and still easy to hit, period. Ortiz is younger, faster and probably just as strong if not stronger than Cotto and he couldn't do anything with Floyd. I am not saying that A+B=C, but just keep that in mind. If Cotto uses his jab the entire fight, doesn't tire, exerts pressure constantly, hurts Floyd to the body and avoids taking too much punishment, he has a shot. But basically that translates into Cotto will have to fight the perfect fight for 12 rounds to beat Floyd. You also have to look at can Cotto really beat Floyd via decision, with Floyds accuracy %. Floyd is the most accurate puncher in the game and has great defense, so I think Cotto's only chance to win is via TKO. Which as I said, I do not see happening.
I agree, but comparing Ortiz to Cotto is not a good comparisson. They are totally different fighters with totally different styles. And Ortiz isnt as good as people make him out to be, im not sold on him. I think this fight will be vey exciting and logic tells me Floyd will win, but to be honest the more I think about it the closer I see the fight being. At least in the early rounds

Mosley could've won that fight if he knew how to set up the straight right hand better. He had Cotto cornered on the ropes, but he never took advantage of it.
shane hurt floyd more seriously than he did cotto but if you're going by a legitimate scorecard then it's floyd by a landslide
cotto did backpedal a good deal at the end of the mosley fight, but floyd was on queer street and buckling knees. he almost went down.
