Alfonso Gomez has been pulled out of his May 5th bout vs Jesse Vargas because of back spasms according to Gary Gittelsohn #boxing
After Conyers (don't know where De La Rosa came from) hes (Jones) rumored to be in the running for Kell Brook......

Ahhh no, I was thinking De La Rosa because he beat Conyers... or something like that.
Also, that's their name opponent?
HA!
*edit
Now I remember, this is the guy who upset De La Rosa and took his 0.
They could get Carson Jones, or is already fighting someone???
Yea, he's fighting in a couple of days against De La Rosa.
You never know, he's fought in between weeks before.

The only fight I was actually looking forward to on the card, aside from the two main events. This sucks. It would have been a great opportunity for Vargas to prove himself. I hope they reschedule it after Vargas dismantles whatever cab driver they give him as a replacement.
I thought I read somewhere a while ago that Collazo was with GBP now. Definitely not bad on short notice.
EDIT: Found it. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=6643976
Collazo was good from 2004-2009, he just hasn't done anything since but lose to Freddy Hernandez, who got knocked out by Berto in 1 round I believe. Collazo-Berto was a good fight, Collazo was still a Top 10 WW, and it was a closer fight than most thought it would be no doubt. Since then, he's looked ehhhhh not very good. Would be a good choice for a short notice fight, and I doubt Collazo would pass up a good payday on a Floyd undercard, where he would have a potential shot at beating a good young prospect.
Maybe they could get Collazo. He's definitely past it, probably looking for a pay after losing to Hernandez. He hasn't been a legit Top 10 WW since he lost to Berto, it wouldn't THAT bad I guess.
Vargas-Collazo, make it happen GBP.

I was thinking maybe they could get someone like Freddy Hernandez, but he's already fighting Yudel Johnson at 154.
Lol, they should hit up Dennis Laurente
Vargas fight could be interesting again if they got Lujan in there with him... but he fought on the 20th of this month and already scheduled for a June fight.

God, aside from the main event, this is a weak PPV card.

No doubt. I've never really thought much of Gomez. He's a tough fighter, but other than that...nothing much about him stood out to me. And I'm not really big on Jesse either, but I was picking Jesse to win.
Gomez had a good showing against Alvarez. I thought he did better than a lot of people thought, and the judges too.
Vargas, i haven't seen anything special.... had Gomez fought the Vargas that Lopez was fighting that night, he would have won no doubt by SD or UD. Lopez had him in the later rounds but didn't take advantage of Vargas's inactivity. Gomez would
Yea I did, and it isn't out of this realm to think that he would.

They should call up Sebastian Lujan. he takes fights on short notice all the time.
Wouldn't bode well for Vargas. Lujan is unrelenting with his pressure and I could see Vargas crumbling. He would do good for a few rounds, but Lujan would get to him.. just like that Pino dude he toook out.
he's still recovering from the ass whupping i gave him
Yup, so what Welterweight are you challenging next after Mosley?
