I know it's early, but I'm going to bump this thread 5-6 years from now, to see what people said. I will list anyone with a remote shot to become the FOTD, because they are without a doubt active right now most likely.
If you had to guess, who do you think it will end up being???
Voted for Nonito Donaire. He has an explosive left hook and he's very courteous and fair. Basically, he never fails to dissapoint.
I guess the same could be said for Canelo too. Only time will tell.
Toney fight did 300
Ruiz did 600
Tarver 1 and 2 did over 300.
Do you ever see Ward being able to do that?
Not to be critical, im jusr asking. Ward is one of my 3 favorite boxers out roght now.
Depends on who he fights and who becomes a big sttraction. If Chavez Jr becomes a PPV star, what if he and Ward fight down the road??? Or I know this would be a long shot, but what if Canelo rises through the weight classes at some point and ends up around Ward's weight, that could sell on PPV with Canelo.
You never know.
Roy hardly ever did that.

Donaire and Gamboa are up there tied for 1st with Ward a distant 3rd. Donaire and Gamboa have so much good competition in the surrounding weight classes (including each other) that if one of them makes it through that gauntlet, that might even be some ATG sh it right there.
Ward and someone like Broner are a bit younger though...but I think if Donaire and Gamboa can be solid in their mid thirties..this isn't much of a contest.
I think Canelo has a strong chance too, I mean he's already a star..it's going to be hard to beat that in 10 years. Hell, imagine if he beat Floyd and Martinez?
Ward. He has already achieved a hell of a lot in winning the super six and he is a class act all the way round. The only knock on him is that I'm not convinced that he has 'star' potential. He is going to have to graft for public recognition a bit like Hagler did, but this doesnt detract from what he could achieve in the next 7 years, which is likely a hell of a lot, or his standing as a fighter.
He is still young and way ahead of the other guys in the poll.
I just realized Ward's win over Kessler was actually in 2009 he's still the obvious pick but I'll go off the board and say Yoan Palbo Hernandez who will rule the cruiserweight division for the next 5+ years and I think he can have pretty good success at heavyweight someday
People are sleeping on him, saying Andre will have no one to fight at higher weights. Hernandez looks legit, and he did beat Steve Cunningham, the best CW in the world to win the linael title.
I don't see guys like Kayode, Tarver, Lebedev, Jones, beating him.
Definitely. See him last night? Yikes. Hopefully he doesn't end up like a Miranda type, which I'm kind of seeing.
I really like that 140 lb'er from Canada a lot more, Pier Cote.
He does looks olid that Cote guy. Wasn't he on the Hopkins-Pascal card???
Adonis looks like a beast. We'll see how he handles a top fighter with some pop, it seems like Anthony Dirrell and he could fight next. I'd love for SHO to pick up that fight for July or something.
I'm still not completely sold on Adonis though, he did get knocked out by Darnell Boone......I mean jesus....
But it looks like Emmanuel Steward has done some good for him, he looks more fluid and sound in there. Of coruse we've only seen like a few rounds with Steward as his trainer, because he's f**king killed his last two opponents.
