how would it play out? I think everyone will agree that Floyd is better but Junior will have 30 pounds on him in the ring and I get the sense that everyone is feelin a lil bit better about Chavez then they did a year ago.
P4P the fight is not in question but could youth, size, and style give Chavez the edge or make it very close. Dont say you have to wait to see the Cotto fight either. That would be too easy to make a decision then. Just right now how do you think it would play out
Mayweather would out box him but Chavez's size would be too much. Even this is the type of fight Mayweather likes, if he is careful about fighting top welterweights because they are too big, I doubt Mayweather wants Chavez.
The same Chavez that was clowned in sparring by Martirosyan? LOL Floyd probably shuts him out.
Yup. Size only matters if you have comparable skills. If Chavez JR had comparable skills to Mayweather than he would win, but he is lightyears behind Floyd. Floyd would just box him the entire fight, by the 8th round or so Chavez will lose most of the power on his punches anyway from all the wild missing he would be doing. From then on it's over with mayweather pot shotting him to death leaving Chavez bloody and ego crushed. UD 9-3 Mayweather (should be 12-0 but judges gave Chavez too much credit for pinning Mayweather on ropes doing nothing like De La Hoya)
Either Floyd has the stamina to go all 12 and he boxes, or he gets overwhelmed. There's a greater chance that the latter occurs.
floyd has had stamina problems when? ... oh yeah pretty much never.
In almost every instance when people are predicting wins based on a strategy of "just walking through everything the other guy throws" they usually loose horribly.
Chavez is ****, real ****. He has gift wins over opponents people never heard of until they were signed to fight chavez. Hes not knocking out mayweather just because he is bigger, he isnt going to land cleanly on mayweather who will be moving. Walking forward and trying to break mayweathers hands with his face isnt a good strategy.
Chavez has a size advantage on all of his opponents and he still routinely looks like ****.
10 pound size advantage on a cab driver? - gift win for Chavez. But somehow a 25 pound advantage over an ATG who is miles over his previous competition equals an assured KO win?
chavez would beat him to a pulp !!!!!!!!!!!
You're a real troll, who deep down loves Floyd that's why you're on every Floyd thread...Nevertheless we agree on one thing and that's Mya, every time you post something it doesn't bother me at all because I get to look at her in them nice pictures..lol
I voted Floyd 7 to5 but my votes never show up on these polls.
i see you on there now. Just go to 7-5 and click on the number of votes and you can see the names. Maybe you already did that and it wasnt there 1st but it is now
Funny thing is that people are more likely to favor Floyd over Martinez at 160 than Chavez at 160. I don't necessarily disagree, but it sounds strange if you put it that way.
Earlier I was going to post basically the exact same thing you just said
DLT I hope this isn't against any rules. What I am going to say has nothing to do with the current thread. It's about the thread of Floyd fighting bigger guys.I left the computer to go workout and when I returned I read your reply to me but I could not answer because the thread was down. First thanks for answering me in a polite and intelligent way. You are right I did use Pacquiao's name to get a dig in on Floyd about his leftover stuff. I forgot I did that. I agree with almost everything you said. As to who did more damage to Cotto, Pac or Margarito I think it's a tie but Cotto was damaged goods when Pac fought him and he is more damaged now. I agree both of their fights are good fights and I like both fighters alot just like you do. Some of the BS that Mayweather says I don't like. I don't agree that Pac fighting Marquez 3 was fighting Floyd's leftovers because Pac already beat Marquez years before Mayweather fought him whether you agree with the decision or not. So by the Mayweather code of leftovers he fought Pac's leftover when he fought Marquez.See how stupid the leftover thing is? Anyway Pac did himself no favors by fighting Marquez again. Everybody thought he would win easy. Now he has to fight him again. Sorry for interupting this thread.
never apologize for talking good boxing. Pac did more harm than good with the JMM rematch and in some ways Floyd did more harm by allowing that fight to happen and making Pac seem human. However, Im in the minority in thinking that Pac will wreck Bradley. Im a huge Bradley fan but I think both Floyd & Pac are horrible matchups for him. I think Pac looks so good that all his hype will be back to the level it was at after the Cotto win, which will make the Floyd-Pac talk huge again
mayweather has the stamina and class to keep that boy at bay for a full 12 rounds.
I'm inclined to agree with you. It's very difficult to KO/stop a fighter who is purely defensive. We've seen plenty of examples. The only liklihood of Mayweather being stopped would be if he gets tired, say around rd 8 or 10. Or if he tries to mix it up. I can't see a win for Mayweather.
