B-Hop is one of the dirtiest boxers around. If he wasn't always headbutting, hitting and holding, and fighting smaller fighters he would've been a nobody.
As far as I'm concerned, he has no legacy besides as the most boring dirty boxer around.
What BHop is referring to transcends boxing's mainstream veil that some of you think he's talking about. It's not about being the face of boxing, it's about his longevity, his legacy - his legend. It's pretty obvious if you actually read the interview
One of best long careers in history, but Hopkins was never "the man" in boxing like Manny and Floyd are now.
Hell Oscar was more of "The Man" in boxing....with women's stocking n all.
I don't agree when he says he's been ruling boxer. Great fighter and future hall of famer but I don't think he ever ruled boxing. That's the first FUNNY part of his statement. The second part that is funny is him including Khan as one of those that are ruling boxing. Khan is a popular boxer but no where near ruling boxing.
his resume is pretty damn remarkable in terms of longevity
he was the top p4p after he beat trinidad, and again after roy lost to tarver
in the top 10 p4p for a gang of years, too. still, he was never a real cash cow or the face of the sport.
That disclaimer is exactly what I was referring to in my post.
He's never been the guy. Not for an extended period of time anyway and certainly not currently.
Hopkins doesn't rule Boxing. Nor has he ever, really.
