America has the second largest population of Mexican people aside from Mexico itself. The West Coast and Southwest have large populations of Mexican Immigrants and Chicanos. California, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, all have huge Latino, mostly Mexican/Chicano, populations. Even Utah does as well. Even states like Oregon, Washington, Oklahoma, Kansas, Illinois, have pretty sizable Mexican populations in certain cities in their state. There are more Chicanos than African Americans in the United States, especially in cities like Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tucson, Denver, Albuquerque, Colorado Springs, Reno, Salt Lake City, El Paso, San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, etc. And not to mention that states like California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and 3/4 of Colorado were once part of Mexico. The Mexican culture is a defining trate of America, something people seem to froget. And in the Northeast, there have large Puerto Rican and Dominican populations, are they not American??? And in the Northwest and California, they have large populations of Asian people, are they not American??? And in Florida, they have a large Cuban and Haitian communities, are they not American??? And all around American, there are African American communities, are they not American???? They don't call us the Melting Pot for nothing.
