ARIZA GUARANTEES HE CAN MAKE RIOS AN ANIMAL AT 135, OR HIS MONEY BACK
By Ben Thompson | April 18, 2012
"You know, here's the thing, if Rios wants, let me show you how to get to 135. Not only will I guarantee that he'll make 135 and be an animal the next night, I'll even do it for free if he's not," stated world-class strength & conditioning coach Alex Ariza, who shared his thoughts on the struggles of former lightweight champion Brandon Rios to make weight and how it's affected his recent performances. According to Ariza, contrary to popular belief, Rios actually is a 135-pound fighter and should still be able to make the lightweight limit without having to kill himself to do it.
"Everybody is saying he's just not a 135-pounder. He is. A guy with a body like that, trust me, you're a 135-pounder bro. You don't have definition, you're smooth as a ****ing coke can, how you gonna tell me you're not a 135-pounder and you got ****ing fat hanging over the edge of your belt," Ariza explained. Just by looking at the body of Rios in last Saturday's clash with Richard Abril, Ariza is confident that Brandon can still be a force in the lightweight division.
"I can just tell by looking at Brandon that 135 pounds is still there and if he would do it right, he would be a machine, dude. He'd be a very, very dangerous man; he'd be very hard to deal with because his energy level would be different, his strength would be different," Ariza added. "His mental confidence about being able to push himself harder, harder, and harder each round would completely change his whole game because he'd know he wouldn't be tired. He wouldn't go through that drasticness that he goes through to cut weight."
Whether or not Rios takes Ariza up on that offer remains to be seen, however, he may want to give it some serious consideration before being forced to move to a division that he may not be ready for.

Rios seem like a big bone person, And does Ariza have enough clients already? And didnt Rios hired a nutritionist last time out?
So much for that claim aye?
So he's not ripped an now that means that he should be able to make 135? He has a big frame, that means big and heavy bones, so yeah he could make 135 by getting some better physical training and a better diet, but he would still be a 135 guy who's going to be completely weight drained ...
wtf does any of that have to do with ariza?? did linares ran out of gas mid way point of the fight????? did khan ran out of gas also?? and pac won so no comment there.
u ****ing dumb?
linares got stopped by a featherfisted bum, yes khan did gas, and pac only won....
in your eyes. lol
u can add chavez looking like **** aswell
Well we know his team makes him sound like a beast when trying but his shape and performances say the contrary. I know that my fighters don't do as I say or work ad hard as I they need to, I tell them to get the F' out of the gym and stop waisting my time cause I'm not in it to loose or look like a fool.l but everyone has their own way of thinking.
Like I said, Alex confirmed. ALEX is right Rios either lied about hiring a nutritionist or the nutritionist does not **** about cutting weight but I don't know if I would help Rios if I were Alex cause of the disrespect towards Freddie in the past. Plus this Guy Rios is probably too cheap to pay. He rather pay a fine at the scale.
The nutritionist he hired is EXCELLENT, the same one JMM had. I just think personally that Rios didn't take Abril seriously once he knew Gamboa was out.
He talks about not making 135 but I don't think Rios knows what it truly is to work hard int he gym and in your conditioning and physique at the level Manny Pacquaio does.
I tend to agree with Ariza, when I see Rios' body, I don't see a huge guy who can't cut weight in a healthy way.

I think what Brandon Rios needs is a new style. A plan B to use after his come forward brawling style expires in a fight, or when it's not even working at all. Change up the gameplan, or become a smarter fighter, train to adapt in a fight mid-way or something.
Weight can only do so much, it's not really gonna make you superman. It's all about styles. Pacquiao supposedly became a beast after 2008 cause he was weak at the lower weights, a few fights at 140-147 against favorable styles, had people saying he's a brand new beast now, he can beat Marquez cause of this now. Come November 2011, basically a repeat of what happened in 2004 and 2008 but even worse and more clear.
Same sh*t would happen again with Abril vs Rios, at any weight class and no matter how healthy Rios claims he is. Styles make fights.
Stop hating on the man. He obviously does his job well.
Look at his work in Public schools , fitness programs and the olympic teams. There's nothing dirty on Ariza, he's just a great conditioning coach that loves his job.
He even worked with the Filipino olympic team for free.
bull**** he's a self promoting con artist.
look at all his recent fighters, linares got ko'd, pac lost to jmm, khan lost to peterson. i rest my case lol
if he was giving out peds all his fighters would be invincible, also khan is taking random blood test for his next fight with peterson so i rule out the ped bull****.
in terms ariza being this super conditioner coach,. thats all bull****, he's just riding off the name of pacquiao, thats it. pac would would have been just as good if not better without this joke coach fraud ariza.
Ariza is right in this case.
Rios and whoever he is paying are not cutting weight in the proper manner, at all. He could make 135 and look cut/healthy at the same time as opposed to the dried out bag of bones you see. His body composition far from what it should be.
