Mickey Ward, Corey Spinks, Junior Witter ( A guy Hatton consistently ducked), Corley, Matthysse.
Overall Judah's resume is better than Hatton. It's not the resume of an elite but neither is Hatton's.
The majority of the fighters Judah lost to would more than likely beat Hatton anyway. Clottey, Cotto, Mayweather ( Did). Amir Khan is a coin toss in my eyes.
Thats a really big point. I think head to head that Hatton would beat judah because style wise he has an advantage. But also Judah was able to have success in two divisions and his resume is better than hattons and judah has a lot of losses but theyre all to good people and all mostly at 147, all of whom would beat hatton.
I would still give it to Hatton, why? Because he was a fighter who doesnt really have much science or skills to his act, He uses the little he had to the full effect with his heart whenever he gets in the ring, If he comes up short then he comes up short,Judah on the other hand has the science/skills that is required sometime to make it big in boxing but he never had the mental strength needed to take him far and he lacks the discipline to make him go further.
People talk about Tszyu being past it, but his fight with Hatton was onnly about 6 months after he Koed Mitchell. I think he was past his best but not by much.
Hatton also has pretty decent wins against good contenders like Tackie, Phillips and Olivera. I'm not sure we'vve had many pressure fighters as good as him since.
Judah was too often style over substance. I think Hatton beat him in both H2H and resume.
I dont think he was on the slide,he just lost to far superior fighters, well hell i guess its better then going out like Castillo.
did you see the Lazcano fight? You should know he was very much on the slide he nearly retired after that fight because he was so disappointed at his performance that’s what prompted him to change his trainer.
I watched most of his career, wins over Mallanagi and a shot Tsyzu dont really impress me much,to be honest he quit as soon as there were road bumps in his career which i have little respect for,its like when Naseem ran away like a bia after Barrera became his daddy. As for Diaz would it not be acurate to say he fought in a far better division then Hatton did at 140 only got good after he split.
If he quit as soon as he had bumps in his career he would have quit after the Mayweather fight. He came back never really looked the same and realized he was past his best and had nothing left to prove why would he carry on when he knew he was on the slide.
Millions in the bank fought and lost to two of the best of his era why stick around? If Zab had 50+ million in his bank you think he would still be hanging around fighting guys like Mabuza and Paris for chump change?
Hatton realized he was past it why stick around when you know your done at the top level other boxers should take a leaf out of Hattons book if you ask me before they damage there health.
BTW even past prime Tyzu makes Zab do the chicken dance all over again imo.
What part of Cortez helped Floyd dont you understand? Of course Floyd is going to be able to do as he pleases if Cortez wont let hatton do what he wants to do!
Floyd knocked his ass, cos Cortez wouldnt allow Hatton to ko Floyd. Floyd took less punishement than he should have thanks to Cortez.
When a fighter is shown favouritism you cant count the win, its void.
What part of it wouldn't f'n matter don't you understand? Nobody wants to watch Hatton holding n hugging! I don't like Cortez and def wasn't the best ref job, but that's not why Hatton lost, Floyd is just on another level! But you girls can keep crying about it. Your boy got KO'd!!
Mayweather fought Hatton dirty as hell in that fight and Cortez was a big part of why the fight ended the way it did in my opinion. Hatton was so frustrated with how he was being treated by the ref that he completely gave up on a gameplan and just ran at Floyd trying to get in any shot he could. Before that he was in the fight and had actually won rounds and almost knocked Floyd down in rd 1. That's a big accomplishment for an overachiever like the Hitman. Mosley didn't even do that well vs Floyd.
You're living in a fantasy land. Hatton almost knocked Floyd down? He never hurt Mayweather, never landed clean. Maybe he almost rugby tackled him down, but he never almost knocked him down.
I thought the ref was lenient on Mayweather, and strict on Hatton, but I don't think it had any bearing on the outcome of the fight. Mayweather was working the body on the inside in a way Hatton had never experienced before, and catching Hatton nearly every time he marauded forward.
I wanted Hatton to win that fight. I cheer on Mayweather's opponents almost every fight the guy is in. However there is this thing called "reality" that we have to live in.
Mosley, he nearly knocked Mayweather down, when he clocked him and made him do a bit of a chicken dance. Hatton? Never got close, I'm afraid. Ricky Hatton had tons of heart and courage, but he was completely outclassed by Mayweather. Once the punches started to have an effect (Hatton absorbed them well for the first 3-4 rounds), it became a pretty one sided contest until the knock out.
He'll beat anyone at 140 on Judah's resume. Once he goes up to 147, his T-rex arms get exposed.
Hatton and Diaz have similar talent level?
Seriously Mark, go watch some Hatton fights.
lol i know right Juan Diaz couldn’t even beat Paulie a guy a past prime Hatton destroyed.
hatton will never get the respect he deserves these threads are pointless
meanwhile
the sport NEEDs another ricky hatton with a face first style that can sell tickets like him desperately
seriously boxing fans are the WORST
we should be thankful to have ever had him in the ring
ill tell u ive been to ALL the big fights and nothinggggggggggg
compares to a hatton fight the atmosphere is insaneeeeeeeee
on that note
THERES ONLY ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEE RICKY HATTON !!!
Hatton's a future hall of famer. Judah is not
Hatton kicked Kostya's ass. Kostya made zab do the chicken dance
I'm ELie Seckbach...reporting
Ok how far apart were those fights? Cause really I remember zab fighting a prime kostya and hatton fighting a past prime kostya but maybe my memory is out of whack
Hatton only lost to probably the the best fighters in this generation and was exciting to watch. Judah has always been highly skilled, but for every brilliant performance he has major setbacks.
Hatton exciting to watch really? Gtfoh! Mr bar room brawler, mr throw two
Punches then hug hahah
H2H Judah can always beat someone but somehow he never does. Hatton won when it mattered and lost only to the very best. His career and resume pukes all over Judah from a three storey car park in Moss Side.
thats judah's problem
h2h his style poses tons of issues on paper, but fights aren't fought on paper, and you dont train on paper
that and in his prime he was a brilliant physical specimen for a few rounds only.
underrated finisher, too. i remember him on ESPN dusting cats.
