as in the same credit you would give him if he were to beat him without a suckerpunch?(it'd more than likely go to a decision)
i dont know what to think
The facts are...
Floyd was in control when the fight was stopped.
Victor blatantly tried to foul Floyd.
Floyd retaliated WITHIN THE RULES.
After Tyson's ear munch and Golota's combinations to the balls I can't think of a worse foul. He's lucky his license wasn't revoked. This dude tried to use a weapon (his head) in a fair fight. If i'm Floyd why do I want to possibly go the distance with an opponent who isn't in his right mind and could do anything? For all who feel cheated place the blame on Ortiz where it belongs. I may be the first to say this but I personally was thoroughly entertained. I would have given Floyd another $65.00 just for not letting him get away with that dirty sh&%....
...And six months later it's still a hot topic.
Sure Ortiz fucked up any real fighter does not allow themself to get punched clean in the face twice with the only reaction being looking toward the ref~ if the ref feels it is a foul that will take care of itself don't go begging for a call just after breaking the rules just defend yourself.
He is in the middle of the ring in the middle of a fight, him letting his guard down so he can get cloked twice is all on Ortiz~
If you are upset at how the fight ended blame Ortiz he is the only one that broke the rules~ one was a foul, the other the unwritten rule of protect yourself it ain't on Floyd to make sure Ortiz is ready it is on Ortiz to make sure his head is in the game~
Naw...that makes too much for this forum.
What I find more interesting is how some people said that Ortiz was winning 3 of the first 4 rounds. I would bump some of those threads, but people that were here around know what I'm talking about. The 'slow motion' group of guys....:lol1:

victor made several unsuccessful head butt attempts earlier in the fight and floyd slipped his head butts if you want to call it that. Hes garbage and cant even land his head butts. Then he finally lands one, that is not slick at all but pretty blatant and then wants to kiss and hug after it lands like it was an accident or that hes sorry he got caught. Hes a dumb ass for letting his guard down during the middle of the fight against a guy he just intentionally fouled thinking the other guy wants to hug and not punch him in the face.
Sure why not...its an ok win.
I laughed for like 5 minutes straight and my casual fan mexican friends were all so mad at Floyd talking about someone should shoot him for retaliation
Do I think Floyd won the fight. Yes.
Was Victor getting frustrated and breaking down mentally thus him going for a headbutt. Yes.
Does Floyd get credit for the KO. Absolutely NOT. Even though Victor did deserve it for the intentional butt, Floyd should not have responded by going down to Victor's level. That was a crap ending to a PROFESSIONAL BOXING MATCH. It should not be revered or else it will be repeated by others.
I'm sure Floyd really wants that KO replayed for his highlight reel and during the next 24/7 with Cotto.
No. He should've given a rematch cause nothing was settled that night other than confirming Floyd fights dirty. He knows it too, that's why he freaked out at Merchant when given the opportunity to explain his actions.
Come on man, Ortiz was using his head all night and it was obvious he was tryin to do damage with the last butt. Mayweather did him dirty on purpose and Ortiz deserved it. Do you think Mayweather knew that would end the fight? He paid Ortiz back and it looked good on him.
I have watched it a few times and I never understood why Ortiz didn't even react after Floyd hit him with the first sucker punch. Your natural instincts as a fighter need to take over at that point and you need to cover up. If he did that then he would have had a chance to recover as Floyd is not a big puncher. Instead he took the first punch and just stood there, pretty much begging to be knocked out.
Yes I give him full credit for the win. It's not his fault Ortiz is an unstable fool. The ref made the signal to fight and he fought. Yes it would have been better if he waited for Ortiz to realize there was a fight going on and then beat him. It is not his job to babysit Ortiz.I think he would have scored a KO later anyway. He clearly showed he has enough power in his staight right to put Ortiz down for the count. Nice job Floyd.
The same people throwing salt on Floyd are the ones who were cheering when Ortiz flying headbutted Floyd.
:rofl: Absolutely true.....Now its all sour grapes...
Floyd missed a lot of punches. Ortiz won the second. That was a competitive fight but Mayweather was winning. Ortiz tagged Mayweather to the body harder that he had been hit for a long time. It might have taken a toll as the fight went along. Ortiz wasn't even slightly hurt until he dropped his guard and Floyd punched him flush.
A KO like that does not get my respect.
I dont think people are against what floyd did 100%, its just that people were shortchangd as fight and unfortunate Floyd did that.
But people dont really count it as a win for Floyd. Floyd was winning the fight before it was ended prematurely, similar to accidental headbutt and the fight has to be stopped.
Floyd was ahead at the time of the stoppage and a rematch is needed. But then again Floyd dont do rematches.

i dont know what to think
of course not but the person i lost the respect for was ortiz not floyd, floyd simply took advantage of ortiz turning full retard
Ortiz was having his best round and was improving when it was stopped. You assume Floyd was beginning to adjust but don't give Ortiz the same consideration.
Ortiz was having his best round, which is why he headbutted his opponent and busted his mouth open; actually tried to break his nose (Ortiz's words, hence subpoenaed by the athletic commission). Within the Queensbury rules, Floyd responded with a 2-punch combination which Ortiz failed to recover from...
You don't know ***** about boxing.
