This generations leonard, Hearns, hagler, and duran combo

PAC, Floyd, Mosley, Oscar, are the biggest names to come out of lightweight, jnr welter, welter all the way to middle..... Look at the highest selling ppvs and u will come across these names.. Oscar prime was huge, Floyd And PAC Are currently and even Mosley was pretty well known and a pound for pound..

I consider Mosley and DLH from a different "era". Sure, they faced Mayweather and Pacquiao but they were way past their prime. I would divide in two groups. I would put Trinidad (Hearns), DLH (Leonard), Mosley (Duran), and Hopkins (Hagler) in one. Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto, and maybe Martínez as the current one. Still, neither group is comparable to the 80's one. I also believed that Wilfred Benítez deserved to be included in that group. agreed.........

It would be nice if this so called 80's combo would fight each other...although I wouldn't consider Oscar and Shane really part of this era (say the last 10 years)

For me Shane is the best fighter out of the current fellows although past his best time I think he defeats all of the current boxers if he was in prime condition. I think Mayweather and Pac could cause some problems but Shane has a more complete repitiore then they do so I think he wins. The biggest difference from the past to the current to lately fighters is "power". None of the current boxers have great punching ability but the past guys all bring a strong punch to great power as in Duran (lightweight) and Hearns (welter) both Leonard and Hagler bring strong punches and hard combinations to their fights. I'm not talking about Ray flurring I do mean a strong stiff jab and right hand then hooking the body without backing out so quickly. When Ray did that he had fast hard shots that hurt people. In the pros its almost always about power! Theres been great boxers that can get over on their skills but power is the difference maker and the ultimate factor in many title fights. Then theres a few with both!! Ray

It was Benitez in that list for a while, until Hearns, Leonard, and Duran fought Hagler. I know. What I mean is that he should still be in high regard now. To me, it should be the Fab Five. It's very similar to Ike Quartey's case. He is viewed as "borderline" great.

I have to disagree with that one. Name wise in the sport maybe but as far as making quality of fights not even close.
