yes, and same goes for lot's of athletes that depends on their name as a brand. Floyd does the same, but he seems somewhat confused. Trying to go for the clean good guy at one time while using a cartoonish heel character to promote his fights. It's working.

I had a change of heart on this. If by Pacquiao promoting his noble image inspires others then it can't be that bad. If Manny brings hope and inspiration to those neglected by the world and society, by promoting this noble image then its cool. Apparently this also inspires arrogance like the pac fan's on this site, but if it means to have to deal with a few bad apples to inspire hope to the great majority then War Manny. I support Manny for the sake of the people who look up at Manny as an inspiration to improve their lives.

it is ok, he is normal person, he is the best boxer the universe has ever seen, and he brings happiness to the poor people, so he can be excused about this. he is just so great and so religious that even the bible doesnt count for him, dont you guys inderstand? he prays in public so people will follow how he does. he is making praying popular again. it is impossible for him to be a hypocrite. hes too good of a boxer to be a hypocrite. yes that is right. his victory was so big and so impressive that he was just too happy, that he even forgot to pray. all the cameraman did was just remind him to pray and give thanks to god for blessing him with his powers and the victory. it is normal that you can forget after such an amazing win. it is just obvious you guys have not met a filipino. i am very proud to be a pacquiao fan. I think most athletes, especially boxers, are humble. With that, image is everything. When you're a star your image to the casual sports fans and sponsors is key. So the family man, God praying, humble human being can be a little bit much at times, but its the way to go for Manny. Just ask Kobe and Tiger. As long as Manny keeps his dirt out if the public eye he'll be ok. There should be no reason for a Tiger type story to come out with Manny even though he has had his faults from time to time. IMO, this good guy image is executed as well as the "money" persona. We need both in the sport. And it might be scripted to a point, but I still believe Manny truly is a humble, God loving, family man with faults.

Is Pacquiao as good as a guy as the media makes him out to be? I doubt it. Money can and does turn a person cold. Is Floyd as bad as the Media and he himself makes him out to be? Nope. Pac has been doing it ever since. Watch Pacquaio old fights even before he became well known and fighting under HBO . The camera man was instructed by HBO before hand to film Pac as he was expected to pray in the corner after every fight but there was a time delay and the interview for both fighters was about to start. So it was understandable the camera man reminded Pacquao. IMO, he's not perfect but I think he's a good guy. There's a lot of reasons apart from boxing why the poor in the Philippines love him so much. As it has been mentioned Pacquiao isn't perfect but he's a nice guy, I'm a Fan of him
