I think that Mayweather gets hit less-if he really does- because he's going backwards
I know u have a distaste for Floyd, but thats no reason to be inaccurate like a Hugh Grant or somebody. Floyd will evade but he can also stand in the pocket at will.
I say the same thing everytime. I like Floyd because he has more styles than the others. They are the same way every single fight. Floyd can use the shell, high guard, slip punches, block punches, and so on. He switches up all the time so I give him more credit
I'm partial to Floyd because there's more substance and textbook movement with his defense. Although Floyd still needs reflexes to perform the shoulder roll successfully, he doesn't need nearly the same amount to have the same successful defense as Nic or Pea.
That's a good point. I was leaning towards SweetPea 'cause of the pure joy of watching it, but Floyd's is built on something more than reflexes. He's got a precise understanding of the specifics of the game. A bit like your man Jones Jr. Even though his reflexes were exceptional, freakish even; his understanding of the art of boxing it was made him truly special. It grounded everything he did.
Whitaker's style had nothing to do with the basics of defence. He was a naturally gifted twitcher with terrific reflexes and upper body movement. Locche had perfectly gauged anticipation and wonderful reflexes, bobbing and weaving. Mayweather has great anticipation and a natural inclination to move away from danger. All different but with similiar results.
The best was Locche at a time when competition was the most numerous and heavy. About 120 wins and 4-5 losses, 1 TKO (cut).
I meant to add that you can learn technically correct defensive moves, and, to a certain extent, through repeated experiences, anticipation, but the other things that these 3 have, are natural attributes.
I like Floyd's defense more. You don't tell a kid trying to learn defense to look at Pernell and learn from him. You tell him to watch Floyd's defense, or Bernard's, or Winky's. It's just much more safe and fundamentally sound. Pernell's looks like some And1 Basketball type of stuff. It's just not something you tell a kid to copy. Fun to watch, but it's just not the type of defense you want some one to try, some one who's learning. If they want to try it once they learn the basics and understand how defense works, and they can pull it off, then they can try it. But as far as actually telling some one who's learning "look that's how you defend yourself" that would be laughable.

I think that Mayweather gets hit less-if he really does- because he's going backwards, whereas the other two, Locche in particular, didn't use their feet so much to get them out of danger but relied on upper body and head movement only. Truly elusive. It has been suggested that Locche was very similiar to Young Griffo.
I did specify that he gets hit less because he's more selective.
All 3 I would say have exceptional upperbody and head movement.
As for Young Griffo, he's one of the main fighters I wish there was footage of.
I think they both got hit more than Mayweather.
That's down to Mayweather being much less active than them so you could say their defense is better because they throw a lot more punches and still get hit very little.
On the other hand out of the 3 I would say Mayweather does get hit the least. But again I'd say that's down to be much more selective with his punches.

Pea's overrated that's why he stammers now,he took a lot of shots so he was not as effective.
Locche was awesome
Floyd's good and to be honest I can't find a winner here.
