Just watched some Andy Lee vids...

Chavez usually fights a certain type of fighter, and Lee doesn't fit the mold. Lee actually has good power and a good jab, and isn't slow as s-hit.

I agree. Plus we know that Roach is the best strategist in boxing. Yeah, Khan-Peterson was a particular high point for him as a strategist. Seriously though, it doesn't matter how good a strategist you think he is - you need a good fighter to carry out your strategy, and Chavez is a hypejob lee is effective with what he does but far from exceptional...he just has a solid fan base but then again lee is better than any of chavez' opponents to date I agree. I think Lee needs to improve, but I also think that he is capable of it. Let's not forget that he had a great amateur background(he was in the 2004 olympics) and has only been beaten once as a pro by a questionable stoppage. Lee is nothing special but you don't have to be a special fighter to beat Jr. He could very well win the fight and get screwed by the judges. Here's what's gonna happen: Chavez Jr will drink drive his way to the arena the night of the fight and pass out after a couple of rounds due to the amount of alcohol in his system. Meanwhile, a few people from the Texas state athletic commission will get Emmanuel Steward and throw him over the ropes and into the ring, and the ref will disqualify Lee for having a cornerman in the ring, so Chavez gets the win and gets to keep making money off his Daddy's name despite his serious lack of boxing ability.

Andy Lee is a B fighter. If he were anything more than a B fighter Jr would not be fighting him. With that being said...Jr is also a B fighter...and on a good night Lee might win...but it would take a lucky punch or something of that nature because Jr is probably a better B fighter. Martinez an A plus fighter and anybody who is making comparisons does not have a clue. More than likely all this talk about Jr vs Martinez is just free publicity for Jr because if he ever actually steps into the ring with Martinez the gravy train ride comes to an end and he would never do something so stupid because Jr can't really box and Martinez knows how to close the show.

When you are trained by the legendary Emmanuel Steward then any bum is automatically turned into a world class fighter. I still think he is a better boxer than Chavez Jr but I am not sure about his ability to stop Chavez.
