Yeah I think Cotto can hurt Mayweather. He's 35 years old now and He's not using his legs any more Mayweather is standing his ground and fighting now. Look what happen to Roy jones Jr when his speed declined a little bit he got hit more. Well Floyd is getting hit more the difference between Mayweather and Roy is Mayweather has one of the best chins and defenses in boxing. Due to his training that shot that he took from Mosley most guys get knocked out by that punch. Not many people come back from that punch and remain calm and come back like a dragon and fire fireballs at will. He's got that mental thing under control too did y'all see all the haters stand up wishing for his down fall when he got hit. Including Oscar De La Hoya who was the Promotor Lol. But Mayweather had other plans. So If Angel does hurt Mayweather. Cotto going to be feeling the fireballs coming his way. Cotto needs to box his a** off that night and be prepared for what ever weather Mayweather will be bringing on may 5th.
Floyd has mastered his D against righty's. I honestly dont think a righty in history stops him unless they are either way way way bigger, he's rusty after vacations, or he gets old. Cotto is bigger but not way bigger. Floyd will still have some rust but I dont think enough rust for a righty to stop him.
Now he could get old overnight and we just have to wait and see on that but I just dont see any righty stopping him if he's fighting every 6 months and isnt old. His D is too on point. Too hard to land clean
No, cotto aint a one punch KO guy. Actually in boxing history very few wins were single punch KO wins over a guy who was not hurt at all. Even guys like foreman and trinidad got most of their wins via multiple shots.
Floyd dont get hit clean much and hes got a good chin, cotto aint going to land regularly enough to stop him. Even if he got floyd hurt, he wont be able to land enough on a hurt floyd to stop him.
They fighting in Nevada Floyds backyard
but they also fighting @154 Cottos territory
so the power is there, but he has to catch him
in the early rounds and if he does
May 5th will be another one for the
boxing history books...
I think this question is somewhat relative. Technically, in boxing, anyone can be knocked out at any time, you never know what a punch can do if it lands clean and unexpectedly, or just happens to hit a button. I would never rule out anything. However, I would say there is about a 5% chance at best of Cotto KOing Floyd. Cotto, while as devastating as he was a JWW, he is not, and never was an one punch KO guy. He stopped people by pressure and accumulated punishment. Floyd never has, and most likely never will take accumulated punishment, he would probably be retired long before then. His style simply does not make allowances for that. He is too quick, too defensive and too slick to take any sustained beating to the head or the body. If Cotto lands a miraculous full power left hook out of nowhere than anything is possible, and maybe that could happen. Only problem is, as I have said before, is Cotto has to be flat-footed and set to punch with real power. Cotto has always had problems with transitions, from defense to offense to defense and so on. Floyd will take advantage of those transitions and I think Cotto will be on the defensive a lot more than people think, especially if Floyd fights like he did against Mosley. Cotto will be too paranoid at whats coming back at him. Floyd is too sharp and accurate and those shots will accumulate on Cotto. Also, if Floyd can take those 2 monstrous rights from Shane and not get dropped or KOed, I do not picture Cotto doing it. I know all the Floyd-haters and *******s want Cotto to KO Floyd so they can laugh, but I highly doubt that is happening. UD or late rounds TKO for Floyd over Cotto is my prediction. Floyd also has a 5 inch reach advantage, and Cotto will eat jabs and lead rights all night probably and get somewhat discouraged by the 6-7th round.
It was Jim Lampley who said it best: "Cotto doesn't just beat you. He beats you up."
I just don't see Cotto landing consistently on Floyd. No way. He can land a punch here or there but that's not going to be enough to win.

He does have the power to stop Floyd. The true question is: Does Cotto have the skill and accuracy to land power shots on a consistent basis? I doubt it.
could he?
of course
floyd could walk into a punch. cotto can still bang a little bit
anything can happen
will he?
hell no
they could fight 100 times and cotto might not win a single fight via stoppage.
What are your comments on Miguel KO'ing Mayweather thier upcoming fight.
What is your rationale?
Cotto is much better than Floyd. Period. Maybe he's over the hill but even then if Floyd miraculously didn't hug then Cotto would show he's the better fighter. Floyd belongs to the 3H club
1) Hit
2) Hug
3) Haul a.ss!

I don't think Cotto hits harder than Shane who was able to hurt but not drop Floyd. Cotto doesn't have the power nor the accuracy to score a KO against Floyd.
