P will and pavlik.
The last two nobodies who troubled him did so with good defense, not pressure fighting. Martinez needs openings which pressure fighters provide.
Martinez is good but not on the level of floyd/pac/jmm.
I disagree. I think he is just as good, just in a different way.
Floyd has the precision and defense.
JMM has the Form and Combinations
Pac has the volume and power.
Sergio the footwork and power...
... and style. You can't deny him that.
there would be murder if they ever faught again. wasn't martinez weight drained at 147? margs is a bum, if i was martinez i would want that fight, i think it would sell.
There was talk of this fight happening before Pac/Margs. It was dependent on Margs beating Pac.
After that fight though, all talk ended. Martinez himself said it wouldn't be fair, he would seriously hurt him.
I personally would like Martinez to avenge the loss, but they've really separated themselves as far as skills go since the first fight.
Hey maybe Margs might have a good run and it would drum up interest in this again. I don't think for a second that Margs would have any chance to win, but I also don't doubt for a second that Margs would be brave enough to try.

Sergio would beat floyd imo, and manny too, but manny's too small. He's an underrated technician.

You can take an irishman and put him wherever and they still manage to fight like an irishman! Lol.
They should take a page outta the mexicans book and start passing down a new style.
He is irish from england, not sure where.
Yeah, he's from Birmingham. I know that for a fact. Pretty sure he's lived there most of his life from his accent. He has a strong Birmingham accent.
You got it wrong boy.. Thats not pressure, thats the plaster.
Pressure.. plaster
At the end of the of the day that doesn't matter kid
Martinez is Margarito's bi tch!

Agreed, there was aggression AND skills from both fighters.
both pwilly and sergio fought better than diaz and didnt gas. More sustained elite level action. Diaz doesnt pressure like pwilly.
Yeah, I have that issue sometimes :lol1: Just read the title and not the OP.
He's Irish born I think but he lives and I assume by his accent was brought up in Birmingham.
:lol1: :lol1: Those Irish guys are tough, to be fair.

Wasn't Williams-Martinez really late in the year, like December? JMM-Diaz probably had it in the bag already with it being so late in the year.
Yup it was december. Real talk, december fights should be considered for foty the following yr. they vote in december for chrissake. How the fuk you gonna vote for foty in the same year thats still going on.
If you read the op, he says he wants to see a sergio vs a pressure/brawler fighter. I understand what you're saying. I mean, Macklin's Irish right? What else would he be?

Wasn't aware he was asking for a fight to go and watch. Thought he was asking who the last brawler/pressure fighter Martinez has fought which would be Macklin.
Macklin didn't act like his usual brawling self because he was out of his league and forced backwards where he is ultimately rendered useless. That doesn't mean he's not a pressure fighter/brawler, because he is.
But I agree if the TS wants a fight to watch of Martinez facing a guy who brought it to him then Macklin wouldn't be one to watch.

Should have been foty over jmm-diaz imo.

This may be true, but if the ts is looking for a sergio fight vs a pressure fighter/brawler to watch. I certainly would not choose the macin fight an an example of a fight to watch. Sergio was the aggressor.

Because he was out of his league and was forced backwards by the far superior fighter.
Macklin is and always has been a face first brawler/pressure fighter.
Just look at his very last fight before Martinez for an immediate example. In that fight, the Sturm fight, is how he's always fought.

Not v sergio he wasnt. Maybe a little.
