Alright, lets face it. We're all thinking Rios right now. But would he really do that, I mean, I know he's considering Rios as a future opponent for Pacquiao. Why risk having him lose to Marquez when he can put Gesta in there to generate the Philippines vs. Mexico rivalry.
Pretty simple, who do you think is next?
I heard both names pop up, Marquez camp recently saying like a week ago they want Gesta and Rios from Arum's mouth.
When I say he, I'm referring to Arum
Am I the only one that thinks Rios has no business in the ring with Pacquiao? Like really? I wonder how people would feel if Floyd announced Rios as his next opponent.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say, that as a Marquez fan, I think if he fights Rios, he is going to get badly hurt and possibly even stopped. Rios is an effing beast and Marquez seems to always hit the floor when he's in with big punchers. And though he usually comes back stronger than ever I just keep picturing this fight and I can't see him doing that with Rios. I see him hitting Rios with everything and Rios keeps coming and ultimately turns the fight from a boxing match, to a slugfest and I see the ref or Juan's corner intervening to stop any further punishment.
If Marquez fights Gesta he destroys him effortlessly.
Diamond I bet for the WBC
Mercito Gesta, while I think it may happen, Arum doesn't seem like the guy would set up Rios with a possibility of losing while he's still grooming him to face Pac or be a future star against a still willing and able Marquez
to be honest i just wish arum would leave boxing. marquez shouldnt even be in the question for another pacquiao fight. it should be mayweather vs pacquiao and marquez vs a khan or bradley.

super
some sort of championship belt that is vacant and illegitimate at 140 will be at stake for marquez - rios
the gods (bob fuccking arum,) have spoken on that

well if rios is what the fans want, you cant bet your last quid that arum will pick somebody else.

I just watched an interview with Marquez, he doesn't want Gesta. I don't blame him, going from beating one of the top p4p in the eyes of the fans, to getting Gesta or, Rios. Doesn't make sense.
I got it from some article written this month, that's what I was going off of
I see a lot of Rios wanting to fight Marquez and hear of Rios wanting to fight Marquez. But I don't see Marquez or hear of Marquez talking about wanting to fight Rios.I think I see a duck or hear a duck coming soon.

Hope it's Pac. Pac will shut him out this time and knock his complaining ass out. Put him 4-0 and will finally seal these haters' mouths shut.
It's obviously not going to be him because he fights June 9th
marquez rios would be fight of the year easily.
So far, Juan ma-Salido has it
If he is avoiding Rios, that just means that he's just acknowledging Rios a dangerous opponent and a threat to his clamor for another shot at Paqciao. Rios might make him look like an amateurish clown.
He's scared of Rios. Plain and clear.
I think it's time for you to go to sleep and let the big boys talk boxing here.
If anybody runs the risk of looking an "amateurish clown" it's Rios, who will probably get KO'd in the later rounds after Marquez completely figures him out (I do believe Rios has a slim shot, and will at least make it a war early on). People cite the Diaz fight as a blueprint of how Rios is going to beat Marquez, but even though Rios has more power than Diaz, he's not as good of a boxer as him. And when has Rios ever been in the ring with somebody who hits as hard and accurate as Marquez?
Or morales, or even Danny Garcia.
Garcia would be nice since he'll be the interim champ and would challenge for the full title, I don't know if it'll happen though
Marquez ducked a lot of fighters, actually. Khan, Rios, Bradley, Ortiz, Berto. But he's getting a pass for it. No one cares. He's still the darling of many fans.
When did he duck Bradley?
And he ducked 2 Welterweights? He's such a pu$$y right?
I like Rios, but I woulnd't say Marquez is afraid of him.

Marquez will be forced to fight Rios if he wants Pac. Arum will make sure of this. If Rios's pressure and punching power down an old Marquez he kills two birds with one stone. He gets a "legitimate" fresh new opponent for pac in nov. since he was able to beat Marquez a guy who gave Pac a hard time. While at the same time making sure Pac looks good fighting an aggressive but over his head Rios. If Rios loses then he can make a highly profitable rematch with a hurt Marquez prob making the fight happen in Sept. so Marquez has some wear on him in the fourth encounter. (not that pac needs it but to arum business is business)
I dont think Marquez is afraid of the rough around the edges Rios. He is just afraid of getting hurt since he can't expect to beat Rios in a safe UD and land a rematch with Pacquiao. He will have to go for the stoppage. He knows if he does this he will open himself for some punishment.
If Marquez wins though, he loses his rising star's undefeated record and pretty much pressures him to make a fourth fight with Pac.
Also Marquez doesn't have to take a rematch with Rios if he wins, if Arum tries to force it, that doesn't look good on him at all.
