Did anyone see it last night?
He said some interesting things about mayweather, pacman and mosley, basically said when in the ring he would beat them all. Always described guys like Duran as great, said he was the best inside fighter ever, then on mayweather said he was just good.
On khan he said he has the speed, power, skills and the fighting instinct to become the best but seems to lack it mentally at the moment, he sounded close with khan, looked like he sees himself in it in terms of the hand speed and how aggressive khan is
peterson better watch out, he is going to get one hell of an ass whooping
Video is way too long but SRL is off his rocker if he thinks Khan has it all. I know everyone is quick to be like,"oh, SRL said it so it must be true" but the guy probably doesn't watch that much boxing anymore, if he did he wouldn't be saying Khan has it all. Khan lacks an inside game, has sloppy footwork, and still a suspect chin(we saw him buzzed in the Maidana fight). On top of that he lacks a lot of heart(Peterson out grinded him). Khan is so far from a complete fight, it's rather laughable. His talent alone makes him a good fighter but he will never be a great or even top p4p fighter.
Its well worth the watch. Says some nice stuff.
Said Hearns should have won the rematch
Duran got in his head
He decided to fight hagler after hearing hagler cut easy and having marvin tell it to him personally
Thinks Duran is better than he is
Thinks Benitez should be giving more praise, and mentioned with him, hearns, hagler and duran
etc etc. Good interview, real honest.
i used to like khan util he's overhyped and a lot of things are coming out from his mouth, i thought i was seeing a modern morales.. but now, peterson semi-exposed him and he wasnt really effective that night, i dont know if i want him to win in their rematch but a loss would ruin his career..
Khan is nothing special. On the plus side, he has speed, good range, and some athleticism, but he's one dimensional. All outside game. No in-game, his mid-range game isn't anything special. Poor footwork, defense, and ring IQ. He's not a fluid. comfortable boxer, he fights more like a programmed robot. His combos are sloppy and he's not that accurate. Immensely overrated due to speed (as many fighters are).
And yes, I know Sugar Ray Leonard is an ATG (79-82 SRL was fu*king amazing) who knows a ton more about boxing than me, so you can save the "you think you know more than Leonard?" argument. Knowledgeable boxing people can make bad predictions: Eddie Futch made some bad ones, Muhammad Ali said Michael Spinks would beat Mike Tyson.
Just wait and see. Khan is unlikely to be anything more than a decent titleholder/champion.
He does not have the overall skills. He relies far too much on his athleticism, and it already cost him against Peterson. If he is going to end his career considered a truly great fighter, he has a lot of work to do. Right now he's no where near the best fighter in the sport.
he aint even better than kell brook or ricky burns overall they are better, there is big faults in khan he cant fight up close
Khan cannot fight inside and he has wobbly legs and a suspect chin.
he should stick to 6 round fights as he is **** when a mexican style boxer gets up close when hes tired

Khan has hand & foot speed, power, athleticism, etc. but what impresses me he most about Khan is his jab. But he tries to fght like Pacquiao (or maybe Roach makes him.) He needs to learn how to control his opponents with his jab on the backfoot instead of fight that Roach style of fighting--jump in, flurry, jump out just like Pac. He should be watching some Holmes, Monzon, Hearns, or any great jabbers' fights.
thats just ur opinion
and this is mine
everyone sees how khans legs wobbles everytime peterson throws a bomb
to fight on the inside game againts your opponent you must have a SOLID chin or apply floyds "elbow rowl" you know hit the dudes face with you elbow if he gets too close so he will have to think twice b4 coming in again
if you dont have any of those two, youd get knockout cold
imagine a weak chinned fighter fighting on the inside? how dumb is that?
must have solid chin or try learn floyd elbow rowl to fight againts opponents inside game
and nope i wont go screaming it was a roberry
but khan won my card
You just killed what little credibility you had left.

so do you think Floyd is a very good inside fighter or he sucks at it and gets saved by his elbows? Do you also think Floyd has a weak chin and again gets saved by his elbows?
nobody ever said Khan "WASN'T TALENTED" but "TALENT" alone will only get you so far, it is going to be a match in which the guy across from you is MORE TALENTED...THEN WHAT? Right now he is just ALL SPEED and everything else is AVERAGE, even his Power is not as good as people hyped it up to be after he Knocked Out Salita
also his Stamina is bad, that is why guys like Maidana and Peterson was able to battle back during their fight with Khan, because by the 4th the 5th round he slows down greatly and he starts to get very sloppy
weak chin was the biggest factor why he end up looking bad on that fight trying to stay away from petersons big bomb
if khan had the chin he would have challenged petersons inside game and with the speed he has? shooot he could have knockout that dude cold
He didn't look like he got hurt in the fight, at least not to the head. His chin has nothing to do with his performance whatsoever, the biggest factor was his lack of defense and inside fighting skills. Khan has simply no inside game, even the most die hard Khan fans can't deny it.
and what do you mean he lost?
he won the fight on my card even looking bad only haters would disagree
Fight was close enough to go either way, don't act like it was a robbery.
Im not really sold on Kahn. Hes good, but nothing like the boxing media makes him out to be. I dont ever think he will ever be even top 5 p4p material.
Khan either needs to
1. double the amount of stamina he had in the first fight or
2. a lot of training on inside fighting. Both would be hard to attain. Or he may also
3. need to pack more power to his punches. His combo seems to be working, but if it is not enough to stop his opponent, a lot of moving around is required especially against a guy who keeps on coming.
It's possible that number three could happen and stop Peterson this time. On the other hand, Peterson stopping Khan (or beating him in the score cards) depends on number two. :usa2:
Khan may well be developing into a boxer with a style close to SRL's.
