Why are people living in a damn bubble?(Referring to the Cotto vs Floyd fight)
I mean, the way people here reivent fighters post by post is ridiculous.
Since when did Cotto became a face first brawler, with no punch resistance, 0 boxing skills and no strength whatsover?
Since when did Floyd became this savage volume puncher, who fights guts and blood and stops fighters dead cold?
Do I believe floyd will win ? Ofcourse I do.
But WTF is this o Floyd will KO Cotto, ohh Floyd will Gatti Cotto, Floyd will stop Cotto and punish him.
Floyd aint a big puncher, let alone volume puncher. Theres a reason why he fights the way he fights. He rarely opens up, he throws 1 or 2 punches at a time, and plays defense either going forward or backwards. And he does all this because if he were to throw 5 or 6 punch combinations he'll get tag and his chin aint all that. Granted he is a exellent defensive fighter, thats why he gets barely touched!
Miguel Cotto is a good boxer/puncher who has face the 2 biggest offensive threats in or around his division. He can box or brawl, punches very hard and has decent defense.
By all logic Floyd should win, because of his faster hands and exellent defense. So please stop this nonsense of Floyd beating people up. The last time he beat someone up was almost 10 years ago(Gatti, actually 7)
The likely outcome Floyd UD 116-112
My Bold prediction Cotto TKO10(with Floyd winning on points (87-84)
the details are up for debate, but the ending result is not
Cotto will not, cannot defeat Floyd, he's just selling his belt
no one will criticize him if he puts up an honest effort
that's really all people can ask of him in this fight
he has nothing to threaten Floyd with
You got owned and expose period!!! When you let Hate consume you do much that's when you post begins to flip flop!
I refuse to believe that you're this illiterate. You are looking like a true reh-tard right now.
I don't see Floyd stopping Cotto. At most, I give him maybe a 30% chance of doing so. Cotto isn't dumb like Ortiz, so there he isn't going to get sucker punched. He isn't nearly as reckless as he used to be, so I don't see him running reckless like Hatton did and getting caught. I think the worse case scenario will be more like the Floyd - Mosley fight.
of course you'd think that'd be an ownage. you don't know how to read for ****.

Just because he doesn't fight like Manny and Tony doesn't mean he won't stop Cotto. Floyd will touch Cotto at ease, man. At ease. Once he gets going and makes Miguel miss, he will break Cotto down. Cotto is TOO easy to hit. It will be a one sided fight. It won't be competitive. He will back Cotto up and stop him in the later rounds, something like 8, 9, or 10.
Again, bro, WHERE did I ever say he wouldn't stop Cotto?
I never said Mayweather won't stop him. In fact, I stated that Floyd could find him with a shot that Cotto doesn't see and go to work. Breaking down a fighter doesn't necessarily mean the opponent is being beaten to a pulp. Margarito and Pacquiao are all about breaking down their opponents physically where as Mayweather is mostly about breaking down their opponents mentally.
They broke Cotto down in 08 and 09. It's not like Cotto is rejuvenated 3-4 years later and he's facing the more accurate and best fighter in the game. Cotto will be broken down physically (as well as mentally because we've seen that from Miguel before).
Mayweather does it all with his speed. He gives no signal as to when he's going to throw a punch and he throws hard enough to get his opponent's attention. This is why his opponents have low offensive percentages because they lose confidence in their strengths.
Right. One of the reasons I have Miguel getting stopped late. It's happened before and he will be hit more accurately against Mayweather.
Floyd will not do what Pacquiao and Margarito did. Floyd does not fight like that. He would never leave himself open to Cotto. He COULD stop Cotto, but it is NOT going to be a one sided mutilation.

Truly Owned here!!! As usual 2501 on the balls puts his foot in his mouth again.

Another thing is Mayweather doesnt need to have 1 punch KO power to knock you out, I remember the Hatton pre-fight, How 90% of my fellow retarded Brit use to say " If anyone is getting KO it's Mayweather not Hatton"

Kinda agree with the TS here even though I don't see how Cotto would/could get the W, Mayweather isn't invisible non is he younger, At 35 Mayweather also would start feeling the effects on age and been in a competitive fight with a live opponent, I just don't want zero excuses after Mayweather beats Cotto.
Of course, not to say Floyd isn't going to beat Cotto, but I don't see him physically dominating Cotto at all. He understands that Cotto DOES have the handspeed and power to counter eventually. Only way I see any type of punishment happening is if Floyd catches him with something Cotto doesn't see and Cotto is on skates. Then Floyd will go to work with combos, but it will be one sequence. Not something that will be drawn out through out the fight.

I agree, Pac and May may not have that one punch KO power at WW against bigger WW's, but they have enough to systematically break Cotto down and stop him. Speed + Decent Power = stoppage.
Floyd always gets over hyped by his fans. After Cotto and prison term i will be surprised if he still fights at welterweight. I am sure he been having trouble with weight for awhile at welterweight.
lol...theres a reason i wasnt interested in this fight. the only thing im interested is seeing how cotto is as good as many of u make him out to be. i never thought he was and i still thing hes gonna get blown out. im glad a lot of u feel it'll be a close decision, it wont.

Good post!

Agreed!
Cotto's hands are faster than Ortiz, Hatton, and the De La Hoya Mayweather fought.
Totally agreed, plus Cotto's timming and accuracy is great!
