Gatti had terribly underrated boxing skills. You got to see them in the Ward, Harrison, Leija fights. I say he would beat Rios convincingly at 140. People think Rios is huge? Gatti was usually a middleweight on fight night when at 140.
All of this^^. Rios will not have his normal size advantage, which is a major part of his strategy, and the fact that Gatti could actually box would give Rios issues.
rios only wins if his opponents cant take his shots, and we all know gattis chin was second to none in his prime. gatti would wipe the floor with rios, it wouldnt even be entertaining. i cant believe how hyped rios is like for real
lol what?
surely you cant be serious
I think Rios wins by TKO late. Gatti wasn't the greatest boxer around. That's not to say Rios is much better but I think he might have the edge in power.

Depends on whether or not Rios can take that kind of shot.
Pretty Sure Gatti would be the biggest puncher he's ever fought.
Rios is probably as strong, but not much stronger than any fighter Gatti had fought.
I would slightly favor Gatti.
Why are people talking about Gatti like he was some sort of great boxer who was out of Rios's league? At 135, he lost to Angel Manfredy and Ivan Robinson twice, all in a row. At 140, he went life-and-death with Micky Ward, and would've been stopped in the first fight with Frank Cappicino had seen Buddy McGirt get up on the ring apron to stop the fight.
Gatti doesn't have the discipline or generalship to keep it at range against Rios, which would better suit him. He'd immediately go to war when he gets tagged. And Rios's short shots would find Gatti more often than Gatti's winging hooks would catch Rios.
I've been noticing that a lot lately.
The fookked up thing is when Gatti was around people were calling him a bum on message boards.
