Mayweather Cotto Face Off Preview (HBO Video)

What people don't know........Mayweather and Cotto met in P.Rico to discuss this fight last year when Cotto was still with Bob Arum. Ever since that meeting happened.........they have had nothing but respect for eachother. There is no need to trash talk Cotto because Cotto is showing Floyd respect unlike Ortiz, Hatton,Mosley,Delahoya. That's not entirely true. Both guys have known each other for quite a while during the days of both being under Top Rank. Both Floyd and Cotto would be seen at Top Rank gym training for upcoming fights. Floyd even states Cotto would scope him early in his career and sees how he implemented some things Floyd does in the ring. Their meeting in PR got blown out of proportion and wasn't for a potential fight.

Based on what Ive been seeing from Mayweather, hes very very very focus on his legacy and he wants to leave the game with memorble fights. Cotto is a good champion, I hate how he low blows when hurt but other than that he is a good champion. Mayweather is gonna hurt Cotto and possibly end Cottos career. Look for clean hard counter punching. That right hand and left hook will be tagging Cotto all night until the ref or corner haults the fight. I think it will end by TKO for Mayweather before the end of the 6th round.

Too much respect, even a handshake at the end. Not interested. Will not watch any more face-offs, will not watch 24/7. If you want drama then go buy the O.C. on dvd. This is boxing, dude....it's not about trash talking or belittling your opponent, it's about the fight and to be honest it's better for the sport if the opponents respect each other.

This is what I like to see. I see no need for trash-talk in this one, nothing but respect.

You can see that Mayweather has a lot of respect for Cotto but the trash talking side of mayweather will come out on 24 7. Like Mayweather said, there is many sides to Floyd Mayweather and he is all about pleasing the fans so I'm sure he will have plenty to say nearer the fight

WTF man...you gotta love floyd for his trash talk, but where the hell is it...he been taking too many leaf's out of pacquiao's book! 24/7 should see him talking trash again!

Seems they have genuine respect for each other but not to the point where one is going to hold back in a fight, both very competitive. Should be good.

lol that was so boring just as i expected it to be. no face off will ever top the cotto/margarito rematch. bradley pac will be just as boring as this one. we need a mayorga/canelo faceoff or a rios/ortiz face off

I want Cotto to beat the face off of him, but I have to admit I dont think Floyd fears Cotto. Or vice versa. And maybe I'm the only one but I don't find this boring at all. There doesn't have to be disrespect or a debacle going on for me to be interested. The tension is still there, because fact of the matter is these two men will be fighting each other and it is interesting to see how they interact. If you get bored by this you must be just a casual fan because me, I am interested in anything they have to say to or about each other (for the most part). Now, the fight itself has to be exciting otherwise I will get bored.

Now, if Floyd could be this nice to Manny, then the fight would happen. Also, all the props Floyd gives Cotto works to make Manny look good since he knocked Cotto's ass around that ring.

Mayweather vs Cotto is going to be a good one.

I get the feeling this 24/7 will focus more on boxing; the fighters, their training, and entourage. There will probably be less spectacle this time.
