The guy is pathetic, i hate holding and clinching i hate BHOP, Ward, and what Alexander did against Maidana but this was a disgrace. My buddy came over to watch the gfight we expected a war and this ****** was clinching the whole fight and ruined it. Anyone who praises that style and way of winning is only doing it cause they like the fighter doing it. He should have been deducted atleast 2 points
Thanks Davis, appreciate it. Just blow off the trolls man, they haven't got a clue what boxing is about, so they throw out cheesy one-liners and bad jokes, and do nothing but hate on certain boxers to fit their barbaric agenda. Just a joke of what Bscene has become, especially the NSB part of the forum, I'm ready to just hit the lounge forever. Haha.
No bull, mann. I never really paid attention to them before, you can tell who knows boxing and can converse and debate about it on here. I was at maxboxing but ended up leaving there and posting here because the hype train was full steam ahead over there. Sure enough, it became out of control here so now I only post when things like this occur.
I was getting extremely frustrated as the fight went on and the HBO crew kept praising Molina with his constant clinching. I mean, he wasn't even hurt or in danger and he was clinching. The few times where he slipped and rolled, he looked great.... That's the Molina I enjoyed watching prior to this fight. The awkward, crafty, high output guy that always gets shorted.... the guy that showed up against Kirkland was atrocious.
James Kirkland fans still complaining there guy lost and complaining about Molina's game plan. Lol.
If Molina has more condition he'd have looked like a world class boxer. As it was he looked a bit rough but still learning. Molina got jobbed bad!
Give Molina a few more fights and Hopkins and Ward fans will be Molina fans but for now you will just continue to hate.
I hear you, mann. I enjoy everything about the sweet science and I'll defend and present logical viewpoints but most times on here, clowns create alts and... I made one statement about how the guy never agreed to random drug testing around the Margarito fight back in '10.... came back here a couple days later and saw that all my green k went to red.
In all honesty, I couldn't care less, I just dish out green k to all the posters here that actually know boxing. Keep providing that knowledge, mann.
I agreed with everything you said, especially the Ward part.
You know what baffled me the most about last night?
118 clinches and not 1 hard warning.... Not one warning..... Not one! Despicable.I know BoxingGenius, it's baffling. Schorle literally was behaving as if NOTHING wrong was happening, it got to the point where Kirkland was chuckling at how ridiculous it was that the non stop holding wasn't being dealt with by the Ref, and everytime Kirkland would riase his arms nad insinuate like "What the f.cuk is THIS **** Ref?!" Schorle would put his finger to his mouth gesturing to Kirkland to "be quiet". I'm astounded at people saying Molina didn't get a fair shake, and got robbed, LOL. If anything, although he got the win, Kirkland was the one that didn't get a fair shake!! Molina was allowed to literally do WHATEVER he wanted. Ridiculous.

Agreed, thanks for the Green K. I just went and looked at my user CP, and I got a ****load of Green K for my posts on this subject, I was expecting the opposite from trolls. Lol.

At least Ward infights and doesn't just hug a guy. There's a difference between how he applies clinches and how molina did against Kirkland. If you actually watch boxing, then you'd know that that isn't how Molina fights. It was a very poor display from Molina who was considered underrated... but now, he's not.Agreed, thanks for the Green K. How can an andre ward fan be whining about clinching? Ive seen it all.

:theyareonI love how I type a 7-8 paragraph post, and then you answer with a...........Smiley? Yes, I know I'm an Andre Ward fan, but like I've ALREADY said, what Ward and Bhop do IS DIFFERENT. Mind you, Hopkins against Calzaghe and Holmes, I didn't agree with. But look at the Pascal fights, the Trinidad fights the list goes on. In Hopkins' biggest fights, he didn't clinch as much.
Ward, actually FIGHTS you on the inside, he doesn't BLATANTLY hold you EVERY minute of every round doing NOTHING. He fights inside, two COMPLETELY different things we're talking about here, doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the difference. The only time Ward clinches an opponent to just simply hold, is maybe in the final round, after dominating the rest of the fight early on. Look at the Froch and Abraham fights, there was almost ZERO inside fighting, or clinches. Until the end, Ward spoiled a little bit, but after putting on a great boxing performance, I can live with a little bit of holding, 'cause I know he FAIRLY dominated nearly every round before the last round.
What Molina did, was LITERALLY use holding as his NUMBER ONE strategy to win the fight, without the constant clinching, he would of had to engage Kirkland ALOT more, but the Ref didn't do his job, not Molina's fault. Like I said NUMEROUS times already, I knew about Molina way back before anyone did, and I also rooted for him against Cintron, but Molina didn't fight Kirkland the way he fought Cintron and Lara, he didn't CONSTANTLY hold throughout the bout, he FAIRLY outboxed Cintron, and gave Lara hell with legal and effective tactics. If he would of done that against Kirkland, I would of been the FIRST person to praise him.
Hell, you know what? I don't really blame Molina at all, he found an effective (mind you unfair and illegal) that worked, and the Ref let him do it, so he said to himself "**** it, I got to win this, so I'll do whatever I need to" and the Ref LET him. F.uck John Schorle, if there's a rematch hopefully they bring in Smoger, Bayless, Weeks hell even Cortez would be better.
Look at that.....Jesus Christ PEOPLE!! Look at that. And people hated on Dirrell on how he fought against Froch?!?! GTFOH. That was atleast twice as bad as what Dirrell did. (Don't get me wrong, Dirrell should of stopped clinching and let his hands go)But THIS? My god. And don't say "Oh the video is edited blah ba blah ba blah blah!" After watching the fight twice now, and seeing this video, I'm even more astounded at how Molina got away with this.
It's funny too how the HBO and Lederman are blowing Molina blatantly, and Lederman gives nothing but credit to Molina, yet like the video creater pointed out about Alexander in the Maidana fight "How he needed to be deducted points for holding" Mind you, if you go back and watch the Alexander-Maidana fight, yes Alexander clinched, but he was actually throwing punches and boxing a helluva lot more than he was clinching. Not only that but if you do go back and watch that fight and compare the two, Molina not only held A LOT more, he came across like he absolutely NEEDED it to win the fight.
Mind you, I don't mind some clinching as a fight tactic, but when it's so POINTLESSLY constant and excessive and it's having a HUGE attribution to how the fights playing out, and it's becoming a BIG disadvantage for the other boxer, is when the Ref HAS to enforce the rules, deduct points, and possibly apply a disqualification if the boxer repeats the foul.
Go figure, as SOON as Schorle woke up somewhat in the tenth round and started breaking the clinches right away, look what happened, not only was Molina being tagged with clean combinations, but he got hurt and dropped, now imagine if Schorle had stopped the clinching from the beginning? Hell, what if he stopped the clinching in the 6th round? We would of seen Molina forced to ENGAGE with Kirkland. Hell, Molina but of actually looked BETTER, OR Kirkland could of turned the fight in his favor and started getting his shots off more consistently. We'll never know though thanks to John Schorle. ****tiest Referee performance I've seen in awhile, maybe since Russel Mora's performance in the first Agbeko-Mares bout. This fight was just as bad as that, if not worse.
That's not to say Kirkland would of definitely won, or Molina would of definitely won, but we would of saw a MUCH more legal, appealing fight. Which EVERYONE was expecting given Kirkland's aggressive style, and given from past fights, Molina was known to be a very active fighter who awkwardly pressured you. Win, lose or draw. Molina will struggle tremendously to get another big fight because of his performance last night with all the pure negativity and holding.
Also, like I've already brought a few times, go on youtube, type in "Lewis vs Akinwande" and you will see pretty much an IDENTICAL situation, the ONLY difference was, the Ref ENFORCED the rules and Akinwande got DQ'd before the middle rounds even began. That's what should of happened last night. Look what happened when the Ref in the Berto-Collazo fight FINALLY started docking points from Berto for excessive clinching, a FOTY started breaking out, 'cause Berto had NO choice but to engage Collazo. Anyway, I'm done with this topic for the time being. Just wanted to voice my last two cents on the subject.
Great post! Very well stated.
Why does everything have to be so black and white? Early on he was fighting well and not holding much. He did get a bit chippy later in the fight. I think he was getting tired. I don't get why people are foming at the mouth about it though.
If Kirk says otherwise, people would label him as making excuses.
He did the morally ethical thing a prize fighter should do; take the high road and let us fans speak for him.
I agree with you there. I'm personally not a fan of either fighter but I feel like Molina was shafted and the dq was issued because Kirkland was behind in the fight.
I respect Kirkland for that because he did take the high road, when he and his camp could have easily acted like Khan.
molina stans are worse than *****s and *******s i cant believe it! Justifying 118 clinches with very little punching in those clinches, and looking like hes about to pass out and loose balance in those clinches is pathetic. How can anyone defend that, everyone defendingthat is a pathetic loser and shouldnt watch boxing
.

If Molina is a joke, James Kirkland must be the punchline.
Kirkland said Molina had a beautiful game plan at the press conference. He said it himself so stfu about it. He was getting worked over by Molina. I guess some people only saw the clinches and holding but I saw Molina do a lot more then that. It was working weather it was fun to watch or not, Kirkland was exposed even further last night. He can't make the adjustments he going to need if he's going to step up in class.
