It wasnt a pathetic effort.
I agree. Paris did the best he could. He is just a C-class fighter and he proved that tonight by his inability to beat a B-class fighter.
He didn't deserve the title shot against Clottey when all he did was beat Jason Davis after getting knocked out by Cotto.
And for the record he quit in that fight as well and disgraced himself by trying to fake a head butt that he knew damn well didnt happen.
Boxing hostory is littered with names and similar situations to this.
Zab is floys vest win since 135, so u better watch your mouth.
Let's not kid ourselves. Paris didn't belong in this fight and he will be lucky to ever find himself in the position as a well paid opponent for a big name fighter.
That was a pathetic effort from start to finish. He made a guy who quit like a ***** in his last fight look like a p4p all time great.
In fact, I would be willing to bet that Paris doesn't even fight again, he will be back to thuggin on the streets after this and he will get shot or stabbed or thrown in jail within 6 months.
The last part is certainly possible, but that outcome was always going to happen if it does.
A humbling is the only thing that could possibly save Paris, and that is what he got. Either he learns a good lesson or falls off the face of the Earth it is up to him, knowing his past the later would be the safe bet.
The difference in the fight was Zab took the fight serious and Paris really didn't from what I saw.

Clottey needed a name to fight him, not zabs fault. Zab got his proper beat down like he always got at 147.

I challenge all the zab haters to tell me right now when he got undeserved title shots besides the floyd fight....
Speaking of fudge packing:bottle::bottle::bottle:

Paris needed to lose to have any real hope in the game, because this could possibly spur him to take the game more seriously. The way he was was always going to end like this.

Congrats to NBCSports on the successful event!
It was def better than the bs HBO had running over there. I'll bookmark this thread and bring it back up June 1st for the next event.
I don't mind Zab getting a shot at whoever he has proven to be above a certain level even if he falls short at the top.
He is decent competition and Zab has been taking his career more seriously recently.
Zab can hold is own at 147 if he`s confident, don`t forget he won the undisputed championship belts from Cory Spinx at 147.The first fight was a close lost for Zab and Zab knocked him out in the rematch.
But 140 would be a much easier weight for Zab.
Sort of but he got spanked by a lot of dudes at 147. His real best claim to fame at 147 isbeing floyd ls best win at thAt weight
I missed that fight; and i saw his last 5 fights but you're right. Zab shouldnt be fighing at 147. 140 was always his weight. Maidana-zab. Bring it.
